Formula 1 2024

Subreddit full of F1 memes. The pre-season content around Horner had me in tears.

Interesting…

Yep. F1 got a lot less interesting when this guy left. I’m just keeping up for the memes. I can’t bring myself to care about the current drivers. I deeply dislike most of them.

Danica was trackside for practice, and as such had to wear the vest thing that indicated she’s allowed to be out there.

Least Garish thing I’ve seen her in.

She should be trackside every race. Just not the F1 tracks.

I watch on DishTV, and let me tell ya, they don’t give F1 a fucking second more than they need to. Lewis hadn’t even closed his mouth before they cut away to…

Professional Cornhole.
I’m going to repeat that: Professional Fucking Cornhole.

It’s not Dish TV (because DirecTV did the same), but ESPN. Hell, they didn’t even give Nicole Briscoe an opportunity to deliver the bad news. Sure, coverage may continue on ESPN3, but DirecTV doesn’t carry ESPN3 (maybe Dish does?).

Even so, I am glad that ESPN just decided to use SKY rather than try to cover F1 themselves. Much better than NBC sports and their crap before ESPN picked up F1. And ESPN does offer replays and extended coverage on their Roku app.

With ESPN owned by by Disney, I’m just thankful they haven’t tried to make F1 adopt a Star Wars theme. Because you know some fucker has thought about it.

But yeah, Cornhole? WTF! At least they can be authentic and make it a drinking game.

If my father were alive today or was able to see into the future all those years ago that day we had a talk about what it was I was interested in pursuing a career…

:brain: :fire:

Flavio seems super drunk already on the grid walk.

Either that or he’s had a few massive strokes while away from the sport. He was never like that before.

Pretty decent race. I’ll admit I’ve not given any fucks about Norris up to now, but he’s proving to be the real deal. That racing with George on lap 35 was brilliant!

Carlos is kinda turning into a whiney snot. Seems like every time he gets passed, someone has done him a massive injustice. It’s getting tiring.

Both Ferraris are whiny little bitches. It won’t get much better with Lewis Hamilton, who complains only a bit less than his current teammate.

Yeah, it’s whiny and annoying. But it’s also looking to exploit any and every slight to their advantage as possible. Just like you’d expect the engineers and team bosses to do. It’s all part of the game.

Verstappen complains about the car from 30 seconds in front of everyone else. It’s just part of the sport, like soccer players diving and baseball players taking 45 minutes between pitches.

Pretty boring race up until like lap 50ish. Then it got real interesting! Then max proves himself to be a prick again.

After Verstappen and Norris came together, and Verstappen had an obvious flat tire, he still tried to block Norris from getting by him. I didn’t hear anybody talking about that part, but that seemed as dangerous as what led up to the contact. Could, or should, Verstappen face an additional penalty for driving right down the center of the track with an obviously damaged car?

Norris, as it turned out, had a flat tire as well; but in the immediate aftermath he was faster.

Yeah, that was the real cherry on the top prick move. I’m not an expert on the rules, but I think he definitely deserves at least points on his super license.

There was pretty aggressive driving from Verstappen and Norris leading up to the incident. The initial contact was more of the same, and does deserve a penalty. The blocking afterward just struck me as a different level. After his car was clearly damaged, and most drivers would be “limping back to the pits”, Verstappen was still trying to defend his position.

And as I said, no one on the telecast seemed to be talking about that part of it. I wonder if it will get an extra look, or will it be lost in the noise of everything else that happened.

I’d be interested to see Verstappen’s in-car camera from the whole sequence, to see how deliberate all of it was.

Anthony Davidson just reviewed all of Max’s sins on the skypad…except for that part, surprisingly.

Ferrari on the Podium. I’ll take it.
