Fort Worth Dopers! And Dallasites too! (Spring Dopefest #1)

Actually, I feel quite pleased that I was remembered at all even if the name wasn’t quite right (unless Tomcat moved from Czechoslovakia).

But, things are really busy right now so I don’t think I’ll be able to make it. Thanks for the invite, though.

but I am throwing her the party! lol

May 4th sounds swell. Then maybe throatshot can make it too.

That is the Mayfest weekend, so maybe anyplace we go will be empty!

I am in Fort Worth around Camp Bowie and Hulen. midcity area is cool with me, but I honestly don’t know of anyplace to go in Arlington.

p.s.
throatshot…maybe we can invite Mr Martinez?

I like May 4th – that’s the first clear weekend on my calendar, assuming no work interference. Anyway, there’s a buncha restaurants around Six Flags and the Ballpark in Arlington to choose from. The ones along I-30 are mostly chains, if that matters to anybody. Or we can just do Six Flags.

Negative on the Flags, I’m to still to crippled to walk around that long. In Arlington there is Joe’s Crab Shack, Red Hot And Blue, Hooters, Mercardo Jaurez, Tony Roma’s, and Salt Grass just off the top of my head, more in Fabulous Fort Worthless. My personal Favorite is Ghengis Grill, on Hulen…Mogolian BBQ…

All in All, Mercardo Jaurez would probably be a good choice, I-20, right across from Fry’s…

As much as I’m looking forward to meeting y’all in Ft. Worth (and maybe getting in a visit to my brother in Dallas), I’m going to be in Biloxi that weekend, keeping a certain Airman company. So May 4th is out. However, I’m sure that at some point this summer, I’ll be able to go up.

You know, theres no reason we cant do this twice…

may 4th going once…

I second ghengis. love that place. Big Bowls is pretty tastey too.

but me, I am no food snob. Chains are cool with me.
If in Arlington, Vietnamese would be swell, too.

please e-mail me if you can come on May 4.

I will set up all the arrangements, since I complained the most about never making it to a fest.

also, I lost the address to the DFW message board.

I ate at Big Bowl the other day. It wasnt bad, but you get so much more for your money at ghengis. I used to eat at Ghengis 3 of 4 times a week. Its gotten so they remember my drink order, and the table I like to sit at…Damn, I think I’ll go there tonight.

I just remembered a small, very good Italian restaurant just off of Collins near I30. It’s called Rocco’s Pasta. They don’t serve alcohol, but they let you bring your own.

And it’s so small that we could easily take up half the room! There are two amusing murals that will be good picture backdrops too.

Either Genghis or the Italian places sounds good to me.

psst…it’s World Wildlife Fund and World Wrestling Federation. Don’t get them mixed up – unless, that is, I’m slow on the news and these two have merged to bring us The Rock duking it out with Koko the gorilla.

Rocco’s sounds ideal.
Ghengis is snazzy, but can be really loud. Not a bad thing, I know…

however,
I have some bottles of wine to donate to the cause.
and it was suggested to meet at in the midcities.

I’ll change the forum page later…

Ok, I’ve created a new thread

Could one of you fine gentlemen close this for me?
