Fox Fudges Post-Debate History Revision

You thought CBS and “memogate” was embarassing? Fox News has been caught tweaking reality after Bush got spanked last night…

Fox News makes up John Kerry quotes and is later forced into a retraction.

And if that’s not enough, we’ve got Fox News digitally making Bush taller.

:wally

How was FNC ‘forced’ into a retraction? A funny mistake was made, and a funny mistake was apologized for. Quite unlike the mad and desperate defense of the forged documents by CBS and associated Leftist drones.

“Campaign Carl” Cameron is just funning around again.

What the hell is up with that link to the photos? It’s clearly two different photos, not one photo that’s been retouched. Or did Fox News also alter the color balance, reposition Bush’s arm, and digitally retouch the expression on Bush’s face when they (inexplicably) made him taller, too? Got a cite for that one that isn’t being hosted on a website for conspiracy freaks? Or was that link meant as a joke?

I’ll also second Brutus in that, while the article was clearly a stupid and embarassing mistake on Fox’s behalf, it’s not even in the same league as the total breakdown of journalistic standards experienced by 60 Minutes in the memo fiasco.

Oh, wait! I get it.

It was “funny”, so that’s OK.

But the humorless mistake that CBS made was “wrong.”

Fun=good. Humorless=bad. :frowning:

Did Neil Cavuto put up an impassioned defense regarding the statements? Did Roger Ailes stand by the veracity of the statements for weeks? Nope. Mistake made, mistake identified, mistake apologized for. That the mistake was kinda funny has nothing to do with it, apart from the grin-factor.

Good lord you’re an idiot.

They’re two different photos.

Does your hatred for all things Fox and Bush interfere with your vision?

Notice in the photo on the right, Bush has his mouth open?
In the photo on the left his mouth is closed.

Two different photos shot from two different angles…notice in the photo on the right, the vertical line on the blue screen background is to Bush’s right…on the other photo it’s to his left?

And you wonder why so many people dismiss anything you say as pure idiocy?

I was just about to ask about that. Bush also seems the same height in both photos to me. Was this part in jest?

Well keep in mind that this is the same rjung who was whining that Fox camera operators were the ones behind the cameras in Miami last night…pondering about how they would zoom in on Kerry gaffes but ignore Bush gaffes…

Oh, unless that was a “joke”, as well… :smack:

He’s a real sharp tack, that rjung.

Remember, rjung is a Mac user, and, like far too many Mac users I have known, has an acute sense of paranoia.

Well, obviously he’s the same height in both pictures, unless he’s got hydraulic legs. But he does look distinctly shorter in the “original” picture than he does in the “retouched” picture.

However, it looks to me that this is because Bush is leaning in to hear what Kerry is saying in the first picture, then leaning back to reply in the second.

Or, it could be one of those wierd visual illusions that happen all the time when you try to turn a three dimensional situation into a two dimensional picture. Cameras lie all the time, even when the photographer doesn’t want them to.

It’s amazing…the Bushistas on this board will dismiss anything that Bushco does.

Do people really think that anything that goes out on Fox news is not approved from above?

You talkin’ to me, whackjob?

You mean by the Bush administration? For the sake of your credibility (such as it is  ) I hope this isn’t the case.

I’m far from a Bushista. I don’t think they “doctored” the photo to make the guy look taller.

Do I have to change my political party now?

Oh come on, guys. The story was pretty fucking obviously a joke. I don’t get it, but clearly they aren’t being serious.

Well, this is most amusing! I have developed a certain respect for Miller which tends to make me try to think a little harder and consider my words a little more carefully whenever the two of us are posting to the same thread.

I almost called Reeder a “wack job” in my post above but I didn’t because I didn’t want to appear to be a reactionary right wing meanie to Miller. Then, upon posting my revised response, what do I see? The esteemed Miller has called Reeder a whackjob himself!

Oh, well…let this be a lesson to me. A wack job is a wack job no matter who is around.

I mean from the powers that be at Fox.

And I’m not talking about the pics. I never even looked at them.

I’m saying nothing ever goes out on Fox accidentially.

Oh, uh… :: puts on best Emily Litella voice :: …never mind.

But seriously, I apologize then. My bad.
