I don’t even know what to say about this. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Yeah, the guy shouldn’t have written the book, but c’mon Fox News, are you trying to win the evil fuckers of the century award?
I’m wondering about this whole “Al Queda threat” thing. Is there such a discrete entity, any more? Keep in mind, there are checks to be cashed in all of this. How better to bolster credibility if not credulity by saying such a thing. Who could prove you wrong? Gonna call up an Al Queda spokesman?
It appears as though Fox Gnaws already knows what the book says, and they like it. All on spec, of course.
Eh. You write a book under a pseudonym and someone is going to out you. Fox just got there first. Maybe HuffPo shouldn’t have not spread the rumor if they think it’s so bad.
It was a cunt maneuver to publish the book because nothing like this remains a secret these days. This guy is trying to profit off the bravery and sacrifice of his brothers.
I have no doubt that any new agency would have broken the news if they had the chance. Fox just got there first.
MSNBC isn’t saying the dude’s name. CBS in the OP link didn’t mention his name. Although the AP did repeat it after FOX spilled it. I have my doubts that any serious agency would leak a name that could get someone killed.
I don’t doubt that any number of rabid assholes of the right-wing pseudo-media would, mind you. I’m sure Drudge or Brietbart would. Or any number of bloggers on both sides. But I used to work for a newspaper and the editors had standards that far surpassed FOX News and the half-assed wannabes that resonate the right-wing echo-chamber.
I don’t get the outrage. Navy SEALS operate in a highly intel-sensitive environment. You just don’t write a tell-all book about that. Perhaps the book abounds in vagaries, but still.
There’s absolutely no reason to reveal any minor details OPSEC-wise about how we conduct our operations. None. Whether its the President doing so or a SEAL on the ground is irrelevant.
