Frasier (2023)

I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the first episode. A little nostalgia and fun new characters. It also had the the same tone for lack of a better word of the old show. Haven’t watched the second yet but so far so good.

What streamer?

Paramount+.

It isn’t terrible, but the time really has passed for laugh-track comedies.

I’ve always felt that it takes a sitcom about three episodes to find its groove. I’m not so sure this version will get there that soon. Niles’ son (and didn’t Niles and Daphne name their son Martin?) is a pretty pale imitation, and Frasier helping Frederick peel back the onion about his conflicts with Frasier is pretty much beat-for-beat what Frasier and Martin did in the original.

What the show desperately needs is a good dose of Lilith Sternin.

No, the son was always named David. The name was chosen in honor of Frasier co-creator David Angell, who was killed along with his wife in the 9/11 attacks.

Looks like there is another thread on the show that I missed. A mod is welcome to merge them.
