I would almost rather it be the ‘Fred’ show with the occasional Frasier antics - tonites Frasier Insanity was a bit much, even for him.
it was over the top, it brought to mind the episode when lillith and frasier were trying to get fred into the prep school.
i’m starting to think this isn’t a “crane” trait like david was saying. but a niles and frasier thing. others get swept into the crazy vortex.
Gotta stay on message, KG: https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/05/entertainment/kelsey-grammer-interview-donald-trump-scli-intl/index.html
I had already stopped watching the show, but this seals the deal for me.
If this show survives it is a beneficiary of the writers/actors strike. A 2nd season would have to be much better to continue.
The final episode of the season wasn’t a bad try at the classic Fraiser feel.
the final episode was rather good. the various games were amusing, and perhaps the goose could be a pet for john.
Season 2 has started, with 2 episodes out now. (They really hammed up the first episode.)
Oh wow, thanks! I completely forgot to track S2 of this show. Sigh.
in frasier world any event can and will go wrong.
happy ham day!
No one noticed Patricia Heaton as the opera-hating bartender in the other episode?
I was bored, so I signed up for Paramount Plus to watch the new season. Thirty bucks for a one-year ad-supported subscription.
(Edited to add, I already have Netflix, MAX, Hulu and Peacock and yet couldn’t find anything to watch.)
Political hire?
They had costarred in a short-lived series after Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond so it makes sense in TV world.
the one where he was a newscaster or one where he was a corrupt mayor ?
Newscaster, and a few more words to make a sentence.
2x06 was a pretty good example of the classic cross-purposes misunderstandings plots.
They did it better in the original episode “The Ski Lodge”, one of my favorites.
They’ve gotten the Frasier/Freddy dynamic worked out pretty well, but this week’s episode is yet another example that they can only succeed when they bring in someone from the original show and Grammer is able to work off them.
Let’s face it, Freddy is a good character. Eve is often a good character. Olivia, David, and Alan are terrible characters…
Alan being unbelievably naive about the guy who conned him was a strange swerve for that character.
