Is it just me or is anyone else out there sick of the Hollywood stars and politicians that preach to us about global warming and then hop on their private jets, go home to their mansions, or sail away on their giant yachts? Obama spoke in Milan, Italy at a climate conference this week. He arrived on his private jet and had a 14 car convoy while in Italy. He also spent several days on David Geffen’s super yacht! Hypocrites!!!
Was he supposed to walk to Italy?
Obama doesn’t own a jet. Probably chartered since he has a Secret Service detail to transport.
The convoy was security and I doubt they came on the jet.

If personal initiative were sufficient or even advisable for fighting climate change then it wouldn’t be a governmental issue. You might as well say that if President Trump really wanted to get to the moon, he’d take up jumping, instead of walking, because otherwise he’s clearly not committed to the goal of getting off the Earth.

(1) Obama has done enough work to combat climate change that he could ride to Italy in a hovercraft fueled by burning coal and it would be a net positive.
(2) Even if Obama (or whoever) was a big old hypocrite-stupid head jerk-face, it wouldn’t change the science that they are speaking about and anthropogenic climate change is real no matter how much oil someone burns.

While climate change and pollution reduction are clearly linked they aren’t the same issue. There are climate change deniers who still want clean air and water, they just don’t believe that climate change is happening or if it is they think it’s not primarily (or at all) human-caused.

My wife is a nurse. She tells me too much sugar and fat is bad for health. But she always bakes a cake or pie for her family for Thanksgiving. I guess I should call her a hypocrite and refuse to believe what she says about sugar and fat.
