No, it costs a bit more. And buying a Volt probably wasn’t cheaper than a Prius. I’m tying to prime the pump (a term I just invented). Like Carter putting solar panels on the White House, it’s a bit symbolic but hopefully helps in some way advance the conversation. Because the Volt had buyers like me, Chevy invests in the Bolt. Progress.

Any number of people have sold electricity from solar panels to their respective electricity providers. Indeed, some laws have been proposed (passed?) to make that illegal, as it has an unpatriotic effect on utility profits.
They don’t even think about draining the sun’s energy until it goes out! Fuckin’ hippies!

Someone (most likely) earnestly thought this was a reasonable, sensible argument to make.
