I admit I was surprised the first time I was in a Target and found that aisle in the pharmacy section. Lube & condoms & pregnancy tests I was expecting. The other toys, not so much.
The 21st Century is a marvelous thing. If only the RW could move forward from the 19th we’d have it made.

Cool. I haven’t checked out Target, but my CVS doesn’t really have anything “fun” in that aisle.
Oh dear, does that make me right ring? I remember paper straws from my childhood. Despite disliking plastic, i quickly realized plastic straws were better in every way. And now paper straws have returned, and they still melt in my drink. 
We throw away so much other trash. I find it hard to believe that plastic straws make up a material amount of it. Aren’t they dwarfed by plastic beverage bottles and plastic bags?

I noticed that a month or two ago in a Meijer and had about the same reaction. Now that I know it’s there it’s kinda fun to watch other people do a double take as they walk past it.
This 2012 article discusses not only Target and CVS but also WalMart and Walgreens adding sex toys to their inventory. Not sure why doofuses like Greene are imagining that it’s a new development.

Seriously, though, I see this on a right wing message board: everything is Biden’s fault. You ran out of gas? It’s because Biden made gas too expensive for the average American (what, did he sign an EO mandating that gas would cost $1 more per gallon just because?), and you couldn’t afford to fill up. Even though fuel prices, and prices of all goods, are rising around the globe as a result of demand after the pandemic, gas and goods prices around the world are Biden’s fault? The answer from the right-wingers on that message board: Yes.
I just wish they’d get their stories straight. On the one hand, Joe Biden is a doddering old fool, suffering from dementia, who will say whatever his handlers (and who they are is never explained, except for “Obama something-something”), and who will read whatever his handlers place on a teleprompter, or sign anything that his handlers have drafted for him to sign. He is incapable of formulating any thought of his own, in other words.
On the other hand, he’s a master criminal, a crime boss like the Godfather in the movies, who has a family, like Don Vito Corleone’s, all of whom are somehow directed by the capo di tutti i capi Joe Biden, in order to make more money for the Biden crime family. Of course, he’s directing Hunter, and Hunter’s dealings in the Ukraine, and the Biden crime family is benefitting from his wisdom.
So which is it, right-wingers? Biden is a dementia-addled, mentally-ill old fool; or a master criminal, who has the brains to organize a crime family, and order them to perform acts on his behalf that benefit him and his?
Given their famous ability to apply cognitive dissonance to the previous president’s every utterance and action, Its’ hardly surprising they’d apply the same abject failure of quality thinking to Biden. But instead of unalterable adoration, it’s unalterable hatred.
IOW what they’re best at is unalterable anti-thinking.
Have a little sympathy for MTG. It must be a shock to find yourself put on sale at CVS.

One of the things I thought funny when I first noticed the toys at Target was the discreet understated packaging. Which is the polar opposite of the lurid THIS DELIVERS SCREAMING ORGASMS packaging on the stuff sold at the adult stores.
On a related note …
Per @Kimstu’s cite, this stuff has apparently been out there a bunch of years now. Though I first noticed it about a year ago. The fact mainstream stores are still carrying it after something around 10 years means it must be selling enough to be worth their effort. And worth dealing with the occasional RW freakout.
Given the vast scale of Wal*Mart, Target, etc., versus the rather Mom-n’-Pop nature of most adult toy stores, I wonder which channel actually moves more volume of the rather vanilla toys the big boxes sell?
