I am having a persistent issue with playback of video content purchased from Amazon. After trying the various steps suggested at their site (updating Widevine, resetting DRM licenses, trying different browser) without success, I believe that the most likely cause of this is that I recently had to replace the CPU in my desktop PC. I bought the identical chip that I had before, but if Amazon uses machine identifiers for DRM content, then that’s probably what’s wrong. The issue started immediately after I replaced the chip.
(I note that, when attempting to manually reset my DRM license file, there was no copy of “msr.hds” on my computer.)
Can you please advise me what to do, so that I can catch up with the new season of “Killjoys?” It’s one of the only three shows I even watch.
Incidentally, in case it’s relevant, I can’t play content I bought before I replaced my CPU, and I also cannot play content I bought after replacing the CPU.
I have been all through Amazon’s help pages, tried all their suggestions, and also I have gone through three tiers of technical expertise in a customer support chatroom in India somewhere, wherein it was fairly quickly ascertained that my issue is above their pay grade lol. Extra points to Amazon for me being able to do this at four in the morning, though.
Thanks so much.
