That’s exactly what this review says.
Interestingly, it seems to have around a 90% approval on different sites so there must be something enjoyable about it. It looks awful to me but it might be fun to actually play it.

Terrible looking game that might be fun, maybe? is a prime candidate for a free download. No need to risk your money to find out which side it lands on.
Cute survival/crafting game Grounded is free to play for about the next 27 hours (was probably more, but I only just noticed it).
Today on Epic:
Both of these look pretty good, actually, I might even… play one of them.
The original Half-Life is currently free until Nov 20th.
i have never played half life or most of the 1/2 gen fps because i was an RPG snob and 2 I suck horribly at them the first one I played was Halo 1 and that wasnt until the 360 came out and the GS near me was selling its original x box games for 9.99 or less and id picked up a few of the BC ones
I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but the very first purchase I ever made from Amazon was Half Life: Blue Shift in June 2001.
If you have Amazon Prime the following games are currently free on Prime Gaming (Note: You have to link accounts to Prime in order to get these games…they will be on different distribution services like Battlenet or Epic, etc):
Today on GOG:
I’m currently playing that, took me a while to get back into it (long time since playing the first), but an excellent sneakathon.
I played Styx on Xbox when it was on giveaway and didn’t like it. But I think it was the controller that made it unpleasant. I appreciate the opportunity to try it on PC.
Diablo IV has a free week to play (until Nov. 28 @10a PST). I saw this on Steam…not sure about Battlenet or Xbox and Playstation). Given the long holiday that is pretty good.
NM i thought it was a free game but its just the “unrated” DLC patcjh
What class would you recommend for someone who is probably not going to buy it when the trial is over?
Tried Druid for a trial while beta, was disappointed that it was unclear if weapons and armor meant anything.
Epic Games: Deliver Us Mars
Pretty sure they dropped this as a freebie not too long ago, but here it is again.
Rogue is great but it takes more skill than the other classes to play well. But, when played well, it is great.
Necromancer would be second I think although Druid is actually good now too (and relatively easy to play).
Barbarians are weak in the early game but can be very good late game.
Sorcerer is somewhere in the middle of all of that.
Necromancer is easy-mode.
So that’s my main.
Actually I think it’s fun in the early levels because you get your skeletal minions right away. It’s not like you have to work to get powerful, you just start out that way. I’d recommend it as a good class to play if you want to just experience the game for a trial. The learning curve is basically nonexistent.
Druid is very strong but not in the early game.
So started as a Rogue and having fun. I’m probably not playing him with skill, though .
Do the environment change a bit from icy snowy desolation? It’s very pretty ice and snow I must admit.
Our actual D4 thread:
(linked upthread back in March, but useful now)
But to answer the question, yes, may flavors of well-rendered, demon-infested (and oft unpleasant) hellholes that vary in climate.
