Free PC game and free weekend notification thread

I believe they implemented difficulty adjustment options post launch. Quality game either way.

I meant to write 70s and 80s here, meh.

Today’s Epic game is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Highly recommend this one if you enjoy this sort of thing at all - the controls can be a bit frustrating to figure out, but there’s a massive world to explore, the choices you make impact the storyline, and there are some great free mods available if you’re into that sort of thing.

The sequel is coming out in 2025.

I bought it a number of years ago when it was on a big sale. It’s a really enjoyable game, though I haven’t played it for some time.

Hell Let Loose

That will be one of the paid for multiplayers which don’t have any players because nobody pays for the multiplayers anymore…

Looks like it maintains a peak of 8k-10k players a day on Steam. That’s pretty respectable for a game that was released in 2021, and of course doesn’t include people playing on other PC platforms like Epic.

Escape Academy

That was free on Epic about a year ago too. They’re definitely recycling free games pretty frequently now.

Mini Thief is free until Jan 22nd (noon CST, probably). I felt like it had been free before but it didn’t turn up with a search. Everyone on my friend list owns it though and we all sure didn’t buy it.

It wasn’t on mine (but is now).

And Humankind. This is a big one for me, I love those Civ-type of games.

Some good gets. I’ll snag them both. I’ve established elsewhere that I suck at video games*, even though I can’t get enough of them, and these look pretty cool for the low, low cost of free.

I’ve been interested in that Humankind game for a while. I want to see how it stacks up to Civ as well.

*I never get really deep into a game, let alone finishing one. I always get too overwhelmed with the options and complexity and I bail. Satisfactory is the perfect example. I’ve played hours of that game but I’ve never progressed past about level 4 or 5. I always get to the point where I realize what I’ve designed is shit and it would probably just be easier to start over … so I do.
