Same here and I, too, doubt I have missed a freebie in five (or however long they have been doing this) years. I probably have missed a few but it is rare.
You missed it here:
It was offered through Amazon Prime Gaming. Maybe you didn’t have a Prime account so skipped it.
Ah…I do have a Prime account but I only bother doing those if it is a game I really want. While it’s not hard I can’t be arsed to do it for some B-tier game I am pretty sure I will never play. If I can click one button and get it on Epic then sure…why not?
Ah, I don’t regard those as free. Nope, not had a prime account for years, don’t use their video service and 0 out of about 15 “next day deliveries” were delivered next day (one took a week).
Amazon has long since given up on the two-day delivery guarantee. Now it comes when they say it will come. Which is usually still pretty fast. The main thing is “free” shipping. I mean, you pay for Prime (a lot) so not free at all but if you ship enough it ends up in your favor. Partly how they keep you coming back to them.
To keep this about games (for this thread) they really do have some pretty good free games on offer each month. Not bad at all and much better than the usual dreck Epic hands out (to be fair, Epic can’t give away a AAA game every week and they, occasionally enough, throw us a AAA title).
They also have some decent streamable games on Luna as well.
That library rotates, sort of like Xbox Game Pass, but of course it’s a heck of a lot smaller. You can pay extra for a larger library, but the one that comes with a Prime membership at no additional cost has a handful of good ones and a bunch of not-so-good ones.
You play them on a web browser. They sell a Luna controller on Amazon designed to work with them (which is just a Bluetooth version of an Xbox controller) but you don’t have to get one. I’ve used generic Xbox controllers just fine. (You can get decent off-brand controllers pretty cheap that work with a computer or mobile device; I’ve played Luna games on my phone and tablet with a controller like that.)
I barely ever order anything from them anymore too, and if so, it’s enough to get free delivery. Primes “free” games are like First Class tickets “complimentary” meals. I did have it a few months and there seemed to be a lot of star wars games (not interested) and lots of their own app games (not sure if they remained free after I claimed them), I don’t think I ever played any I claimed from them, and they do seem quite high maintenance (doing short runs of games I don’t want, so would have to visit websites regularly to find out if they’ve doing stuff). I don’t think even here covers them often too, so I’d miss the ones I would want anyway…
I tend to only make a point of posting them if it’s something fairly top shelf. They actually have the free offers for quite a few weeks at a time which means that (a) there’s fewer opportunities to post them and (b) they tend to get forgotten about versus the weekly EGS rotation.

That second game isn’t free, it’s a "freemium” microtransaction type of thing.
Oops…sorry. I saw The first one and the second popped up when I was typing in the search bar so I posted it too without looking closer.
A couple cheapo Steam freebies:
Excuse the brevity but I’m posting from my phone while away for the holidays. But still bringing you free $2.99 games. Some may call me a hero; some may say that “hero” is not a strong enough word…
