Free weekend for Across The Obelisk, looks pretty cool to me.
Deep Sky Derelicts is free from GOG. I’ve played and enjoyed – deckbuilding rogue-lite turn-based squad combat with a Darkest Dungeon look splashed over the sci-fi.
Today on Epic:
Dying Light looks excellent; anyone here play it and like it? I would be playing it strictly single player.
Shapez also looks interesting.
Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock is currently free on Steam
thanks for that ive bee nwanting to try the series for ages …I’m told its a cross between the original series and wing commander
I haven’t played Dying Light solo, only with my kiddo. For a free game, heck yeah snatch it up. We’re only a little far in (probably not even 10 hours total…and even given that, you have to also understand the we kind of go randomly where he wants, so we don’t have 10 hours of actual game progression) so we still are mostly relying on melee combat and grenades etc. rather than using firearms.
It’s a fun game; gets a little intense at times if you’re in to that sort of thing. The parkour aspect is actually a lot of fun. Unless you corner yourself (or are forced in to a corner due to an objective) you usually feel like you can run and jump your way out of it.
Should add that it can also be very pretty at times.
Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is fine but it is not remotely like Wing Commander.
I’d be hard pressed to recommend it but, for free, definitely worth a try I think.
Done. Thanks much for the feedback.
I also picked up shapez, but I think that one might end up just being more clutter in my game library.
I’ve got shapez on Steam. It’s actually pretty good, it’s like Factorio except more pure - there’s no enemies to get in the way, and setting up factories to build the shapes is pretty fun.
It’s worth a look if you like that style of game. I got a few dozen hours out of it.
I put a few hours into it last night. It was alright, but I can see where it will soon get grindy.
Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is currently free from Fanatical
They lost me when they require that you sign up for their newsletter to collect. Noped right out.
I have no faith that a company that will do that will honor an unsubscribe and won’t sell my address to someone else.
They’ll honor the unsubscribe because that’s what I do each time.
I have no way of knowing if they sell your email but that’s a risk you take with any online vendor.
i guess the offers over …
Epic has a nice selection right now.
This was going to be a longer list, but then I realized the rest that were being showcased to me are always free.
Neverwinter, Phantasy Star Online 2, Path of Exile, Diabolical.
Isn’t “Path of exile” always free?
Everything listed below where I said “always free” is always free.
Desktop Dungeons is available free from Steam until April 25th (noon CST)
Epic’s freebies for this week are Beyond Blue and Never Alone.
