Good ep, and it didn’t feel like a rehash. The “Giant porcupine” line was funny.
What I’m not getting and I wish they’d explore/explain is why Newlivia is so excited to let herself be overwritten by Oldlivia. She keeps saying that Oldlivia is a “better” version of her.
Why?
Oldlivia, for all that I like the character, is broken. She’s mopey, scared, unable to open up, emotionally distant, and is messed up with with non-stop daddy-issues. It’s good to see her overcome all this crap, but she’s not “better” than well-adjusted, open, happy Newlivia. What does Newlivia prefer about Oldlivia?
those are some of the many great questions I fear will never be answered before the series ends. sigh. (personally I like Fauxlivia best. I would enjoy a spin-off series with her & either Lincoln).
They just…disappeared in the middle of a season. Peter and Oldlivia’s sister were flirting, Oldlivia was bonding with niece, we got a hint of a subplot about the evil ex-husband was going to sue for full custody and then…poof Never mentioned again.
In this ep, we learned (thanks to expository dialogue) that her sis and kid moved to Chicago(?) to be nearer to the ex, who apparently wasn’t evil, just bitter (with good cause apparently) that Olivia’s sister took the kid and moved across the country.
It wasn’t important, really, just a loose end that was bugging me far out of proportion. So I’m glad they resolved it.
