First off, are we even offically into the second season? Is this just the second half of the first season of this great show?
That being said.
I just caught tonight’s (1/27) episode and I caught last week’s as well.
Where is Massive Dynamic?
Where is the Patern?
Where is Olivia’s love interest?
Am I missing something here?
As a Wire fan and a Neal Stephenson fan, I especially enjoyed tonight’s episode. Two former Wire actors and a plot lifted from Stephenson’s “Snow Crash”. Nice to see Chris Partlow and Frank Sobotka working again.
J.J. Abrams talked about how he wants to show to be something that you can jump into without knowing the whole storyline. So not every episodes will be about the Pattern and Massive Dynamic and so on.
I can’t give a cite, but I read that the writer/producers were going to try to make each episode stand-alone, while still have over-arching story elements. Therefore, Massive Dynamic, the Pattern, the Watcher, Olivia’s backstory, as well as Pater & Peter’s Father’s backstories all will return, just not every week. Which is fine with me.
after posting, I see others have already made my point. doesn’t matter who fights it, as longas ignorance is fought
Well, I’m glad that every episode isn’t necessarily connected to Massive Dynamic or The Pattern. Stand-alone episodes like this one can be good, too.
Who do you mean by Olivia’s love interest? The dead guy that’s in her head? Or the old friend she almost hooked up with in Germany?
Anyways, I love FRINGE! Some thoughts about tonights episode:
Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Astrid was giving Peter a look, when Walter was talking about attraction and mating at the beginning.
However, she’s going to have to get in line behind Olivia’s sister, who was definitely showing some interest in Peter.
The asshole guy at the FBI that keeps giving Olivia shit is really annoying. I know, he’s supposed to be annoying, but I hope he doesn’t stick around long. I’d like to see him choke on a giant cold-virus slug.
I was afraid the old woman was going to pull a gun out of her bag and shoot Walter!
Nothing to really add, love the show, glad the ratings will keep it on the air for a while. I even like the huge Panic Room-esque block letters that hang over every setting change. So there.
