Frozen pizza that's good

I bought a Newman’s Own Margherita Thin & Crispy Pizza last night.

I ate the whole thing in one setting because of how good it was.

I’ve tried others over the years that tend to be crap, so this one really surprised me.

Can anyone suggest others?

My family likes the Digorno’s frozen pizza. Definitely follow the directions and put it directly on the rack if you want the crust to stiffen up.

Red Baron’s French Bread pizzas are pretty good. They kept me fed in college.

Digiorno is the best I’ve found. I like the rising crust, three meat one myself. Great for nasty, rainy days when I don’t want to get out.

Totino’s Party Pizza. Seriously. They’ve shrunk significantly over the years, but even so, for price:taste ratio, you can’t do any better.

There are exactly two frozen pizzas I’ve discovered I like:

Home Run Inn
Palermo’s ultra thin crust

Which is odd, as I’m not a fan of Home Run Inn’s restaurant pizza. I have no idea how widely available either of these two are, though.

Tombstone Garlic Bread Pizza’s are really good. IMO they don’t really that much like garlic, but as a frozen pizza, they’re pretty good. I usually have a few in my freezer. Where I shop, the regular price is $4.99 or $5.99 but once a month the price dips down to $2.50 and I grab three or four of them.

The Home Run In Classic sausage pizza is addictive. There’s something about the sausage and it has just the right amount of sauce.

I’ve seen Home Run Inn pizza at Sams Club. Next time I’m there, I’ll get some to try.

Agreed. (Although it’s sold as Delissio up here, not DiGiorno.)

I like the Tombstone Pepperoni 12-inchers myself. I’ve not found another frozen pizza that didn’t taste like they put the cardboard on the wrong side of the toppings.

California Pizza Kitchen is the only supermarket frozen pizza I will buy, and it’s remarkably like the real thing from the real CPK store. Otherwise, it’s Papa Murphy’s Take-N-Bake for me.

I think I’ve tried all the major brands, and DiGiorno is the best. I drizzle a little extra sauce on top, and add some additional grated mozzarella and fresh garlic.

I like DiGiorno’s Flatbread crust pizzas best. Stouffer’s french bread pizzas are also pretty good.

Jack’s.

I always liked FRESCHETTA four cheese pizza.

+1

Especially the Garlic Chicken.

I liked the Freshcetta with the sauce stuffed crust, but I haven’t seen that around in years.

Yeah, this brand is one of the better ones that you can find in most grocery stores.

If you’re willing to go a little more expensive I’d suggest checking out EVOL (there’s a flatbread goat cheese, pesto, and portabella that is fantastic).

I’m pretty sure it’s only available in New England, but American Flatbread is an excellent brand. Better than anything mentioned here so far.

California Pizza Kitchen was scored best by America’s Test Kitchen, and (shockingly) impressed host Christopher Kimball.
