Absolutely, and they are often for sale 5 for $10 at Cub.
Ditto - I stock up when they’re on sale. Very tasty.
Kroger (midwest grocery chain) “Private Selection” pizzas are the only other frozen ones I’ll buy. Oh, and the Kashi brand pizzas…are not bad although a bit bland.
I’ve never seen Newmans Own pizzas around here.
Another vote for the California Pizza Kitchen - their frozen pizzas are really good. The BBQ chicken one is my favorite, but they’re expensive, so I wait for sales and get a few to restock the freezer.
I also get the Palermo’s thin crust ones at Costco - the ones I get are just chopped tomatoes and cheese, and they’re so delicious!
I’m sure I am spelling it wrong, but Dr Oechkters is delish.
Delissio rising crust is popular at our house.
Here is what I do.
I take a Freschetta Supreme Pizza, but I fry up some onions and good peppers and lay them on the pizza. Then, I cover the stuff I laid there with some shredded cheese.
Great pizza.
I forgot about CPK. Amend my statement to three frozen pizzas I like. I do fine Home Run Inn sausage to be my favorite overall, though.
Jewel’s Chef’s Kitchen Cheese and Sausage Frozen Pizza.
It’s a local store brand in Chicago. Best frozen pizza ever. Hands down.
My wife has the same opinion on Home Run Inn: indifferent to it at the restaurant, loves it from the grocery store.
I used to love Jack’s when it was a local Wisconsin brand. Kraft bought the brand around 1990, and made it into their “value” brand, and dropping the product quality in the process. I don’t care for it anymore, as a result.
Back on topic: I like Home Run Inn, Tombstone (particularly their thin-crust varieties), and DiGiorno.
Ditto from me. But this is the kind of pizza I like in general. CPK might be good, but I don’t like their pizza even in their stores, so I wouldn’t like even an authentic frozen version.
I’m rather fond of Dr. Oetker’s Ristorante line, especially the mushroom pizza.
See, I remember loving them in like the 80s/90s. Something’s changed about them in the last 10-15 years, though. Either my tastes have changed or their recipe has changed, because they seem nowhere near as good as my recollection of them.
Digiorno’s Rising Crust definitely gets my vote. It’s the only frozen pizza I’ll buy, and I think I’ve tried them all. However I NEVER follow the cooking instructions on the box. Personally, I prefer my crust rather limp, and chewy like hand-tossed pizzeria crust, but it took me a while to learn that if I follow the box directions (frozen pie baked 20-28mins @ 400°F) I’m guaranteed a blackened, pizza-shaped BRICK! Now I set the frozen Digiorno’s on a pizza pan and let it thaw for at least an hour first, then bake 13-14mins @ 400°F. Perfection! And their Spicy Chicken Supreme is a slice of heaven. (Pun intended)
Freschetta Rising Crust and Red Baron Pan Pizza are my favorites.
I used to like Digorno, but once I noticed how sweet the sauce is, I couldn’t STOP noticing it.
Oh great… :smack:
Haven’t you eaten a Tostino’s party pizza? Why does this thread even exist?!
The thread was created so you could post this.
You’re welcome.
I particularly like the BBQ chicken, almost as good as fresh. I agree Newman’s Own is a good choice also. Of course, they both tend to be more expensive than other brands; Freschetta is a good, cheaper choice.
Another vote for California Pizza Kitchen BBQ chicken.
Costco sells a 3 pack of thin-crust sausage frozen pizza. Don’t recall the manufacturer, but it’s quite good.
