I just finished the last morsel of my favorite Christmas present…a fruit cake. I went to the super market to purchase another one, and they told me I would have to wait until Christmas 2000. And they were serious!. Hey, I wasn’t looking for a stollen or a kolachi! Just an every day fruit cake. WHAT GIVES?
they reason that fruitcake is so durable that no one can possible eat more than one per year. hence, they sell them only during a select time each year. this select time is, in turn, the holiday season, as fruit cake is the gift that one can keep on giving.
