Fuck all you warmongering pieces of shit

To be fair, Iran is a major supporter of Hamas so, I think, it is not wrong to say whoever Hamas has killed counts as Iran killed them.

“the region’s unchallenged hegemonic power” to do what exactly? Exact tribute? Install puppet governments? Extend the Israeli homeland from the Nile delta to the Arabian Sea? As far as I can see Israel wants “unchallenged hegemonic power” mainly to guarantee that its citizens aren’t in danger of being summarily murdered.

Not arguing that. In fact I say as much upthread.

But I don’t particularly care much if Iran gets smashed flat either.

According to social media, IAEA is reporting no increase in radiation at Iran’s nuclear sites.

If true, this would seem to indicate either everything was moved in advance, or the attacks didn’t penetrate far enough to do real damage.

Either case would seem to be a failure, AFAICT. And if these attacks failed, then what next?

Further, if these attacks did fail, is anyone surprised that attacks planned and organized by Netanyahu and Trump failed to accomplish their goal?

I think you’ll care if there are deadly unintended consequences. Do you really think that’s unlikely?

As an American, I hold American politicians to a higher standard.

This is kinda interesting. Whether the clock was destroyed or not it shows Iran’s commitment to the destruction of Israel (in case there was any doubt on that matter left):

Full Title: What is Israel Doomsday Clock and is it still running or destroyed? Here’s when Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei predicted Israel would no longer exist

(You can Google for more sources on this same story.)

Speaking of Team America:

The war against Hamas has been going on a couple years, and in fact the IDF has killed far more Gazans - Hamas and otherwise - than Hamas has killed Israelis. I realize you have a bias, an understandable one, but surely you are aware that one side has suffered far more death and destruction than the other?

Meanwhile, Iran v. Israel has only been going on a couple days. Although, since Iran just attacked a US base in Qatar, that “score” could change drastically in the next day or so.

There is a fringe group in Israel who want to establish a Jew-only “Greater Israel”, but that’s probably on par with Americans who think The Turner Diaries is a good idea. The key thing is not to permit that sort of whacko to ever get an upper hand.

Or, since uranium is heavier than lead, it was all far enough underground that the mountain contained it.

Frankly, I don’t have much confidence in any reports about damage to the “Three Nuclear Facilities” at this point regardless of which way they’re pointing.

Yeah. This is going swimmingly:

Thank Og there are massive tax cuts for the wealthy, and dramatic cuts to services for the poor, afoot.

It all worked out so well for Bush the Younger, and for the economy, and for the rest of us, and for the world.

Then why did the U.S. and U.K. topple the Mosadeqq regime on August 19 1951? After his government nationalised the British oil industry? What? say you. That was almost 75 years ago, and the U.S. is a net exporter of oil.

But this isn’t about now. This is all a result of reaping what you sowed. The rich countries in the world fucked over MENA since at least the late 19th century. When they had the means to overthrow their colonial masters they did, which the former colonial masters didn’t like very much. They’ve been fucking around in the area ever since and I’m believe that peace will only - if ever - come to the Middle East when the oil wells in the area is empty.

The Levant, being the crossroad of three continents, has basically had wars for almost 3000 years, so lack of oil might not clear the way for peace. But maybe the big bullies will stay out. Remember that one reason the rulers of Britain looked favourably on settling Ashkenazi in Palestine in the late 19th century was to have an ally close to the Suez.

But I think the U.S. is butthurt over the 444 days of hostages 46 years ago.

@Whack-a-Mole
May I suggest that you spend less time thinking about evil Muslims attacking the United States, 24-style (and countless other crappy movies and tv shows) and more time studying politics and history. No need to go all Jack Bauer. You’ll sleep better at night.

The nittiest of nitpicks: 1953.

For those who don’t know about this … it’s worth a quick read:

It’s the old “why is our oil under your sand” meme. That train ain’t never late.

Interesting that this is all the West reaping what it sowed, but in no way is Iran’s use of proxies to attack Israel over the last 40 years blowing up in its face an example of Iran reaping what they sowed.

The West’s actions are why the sort of people who support terrorist campaigns are in charge of Iran in the first place.

Yes, you’ve made it very clear that you believe that only white people have agency, thank you.

It has nothing to do with"white people" or “agency”. It has everything to do with colonialist powers turning the whole region into what it is today. Including Israel.

Bullshit. We both know that when you say ‘Colonialist Powers’ you really mean ‘White People’. Somehow, the various Persian dynasties, the Ottomans, and the Caliphates never count as “Colonialist Powers”, but Israel does.

Also Israel’s Likud party covertly sold military equipment to Khomeini almost immediately after he consolidated power. Of course the US got in on the fun later with Iran-Contra.

You think the US administration nowadays remember history? hahahahah

Yep. The set of Americans who are seething in rage over the Iran hostage crisis is a subset of the set of Americans who know about the Iran hostage crisis, which is already a very short list.
