Fuck all you warmongering pieces of shit

And it’s not just in Gaza. Another Palestinian killed in the WB by a violent settler, who likely will face no consequences:

I’m still loathe to compare Jews to Nazis, but I think a better comparison for the current Israeli government is the US in the mid-to-late 1800s: waging genocidal or near-genocidal wars against the natives, virtually no consequences for Americans who kill Native Americans, while countless are held in slavery (or Jim Crow apartheid after the CW) in the South. Jacksonian? Colonial? Supremacist? All 3, maybe?

Now even Donald Trump is admitting that starvation exists in Gaza and is lecturing Bibi to do something about it. Have Israel’s actions become so morally abhorrent that not even Trump can tolerate them??

(Of course not, he just wants to be able to build more golf courses in Saudi Arabia and Qatar)

A real man. A fake claim. 41-year-old Mohammad al-Hasanat didn’t die of starvation — he suffered from untreated diabetes and died from complications of severe hypercatabolism. But his image is now being used to smear Israel. This isn’t compassion. It’s manipulation. Don’t let Hamas weaponize suffering to spread hate. Truth matters.

Bolding mine.

It’s hard to tell if this is either ignorance or deliberate trolling. I suspect the latter. Because he had untreated diabetes because Israel have destroyed the healthcare system in Gaza. And Israel is preventing medical aid from getting through.

Here is a graph sourced from the WSJ.

Look at “other aid.” Almost nothing has been let through since Israel broke the ceasefire agreement. Including medical aid. From the PCHR:

claimed the lives of 472 out of 1200 kidney failure patients, (around 41% of the total kidney patients). Moreover, 78 dialysis machines have been destroyed, depriving patients of lifesaving treatment.

The report also clarifies that 6 out of 7 specialized dialysis centers had been massively destroyed or forced out of service, including four centers in Gaza City and North Gaza while the remaining two in southern and central Gaza Strip. The report also points out that 62 dialysis machines remain operational but at decreased capacity after 78 machines had been destroyed, reducing the services provided to patients to the half amid severe shortages of medicine and medical consumables.

There is something morally depraved about this sort of cruel propaganda. And the sad thing is, for many people around the world, they will fall for it.

…apologies: the quote and spoiler tags didn’t work for some reason, I’ve flagged for moderation.

Well, given that hypercatabolism is also a result of starvation, I vote trolling. The reporting I’ve read says things like “Medical staff at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city said Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hasanat, 43, died from complications of untreated diabetes and prolonged undernourishment.” so it’s not as if his diabetes was hidden. Just more Israeli bullshit.

What is the actual argument that there’s not currently any significant starvation in Gaza? Best I can tell is it’s something like “not enough dead yet”, or “the parents don’t look as skinny as the kids”.

It shouldn’t need to be said, but the time to worry about starvation is before people start dying from starvation.

The most familiar antecedent IMO is the German Empire in SW Africa. Expulsion not containment, but still the choice to either starve or be shot.

Perhaps there is some hope for Israel after all.

From the Guardian:

A group of high-profile Israeli public figures, including academics, artists and public intellectuals, has called for “crippling sanctions” to be imposed by the international community on Israel, amid mounting horror over its starvation of Gaza.

The 31 signatories of a letter to the Guardian include an Academy award recipient, Yuval Abraham; a former Israeli attorney general, Michael Ben-Yair; Avraham Burg, a former speaker of Israel’s parliament and former head of the Jewish Agency; and a number of recipients of the prestigious Israel prize, Israel’s highest cultural honour.

The figures come from the worlds of poetry, science, journalism and academia, and the letter accuses Israel of “starving the people of Gaza to death and contemplating the forced removal of millions of Palestinians from the strip”.

It adds: “The international community must impose crippling sanctions on Israel until it ends this brutal campaign and implements a permanent ceasefire.”

They’re probably all antisemitic members of Hamas.

Onion is on point (back in '23):

Just got an email from Bernie Sanders saying he’s going to force the Senate to vote today on cutting off military aid to Israel. Three months ago the same bill got only 14 votes in favor. Let’s see how it goes this time. I predict it will fail, but get a lot more than 14 votes.

I’m with you here Puzzlegal , (fun fact I also read your name as puzz legal until said thread where everyone discussed it and still can’t read “puzzle gal” out of it without considerable effort). I was staunchly in favour of pretty much any actions Israel took until this “war”. I’ve been utterly gobsmacked by the hypocrisy. Big ww2 buff so I think you can imagine why. Banquet and you and Andy (sorry I know theres iiii’s and we’re not supposed to screw up peoples names) have really opened my eyes (and broomstick?) It’s been really shocking to me. I actually grew up closely watching the PLO and arafat nonsense (basically grew up on that) and didn’t have much sympathy for the palestinian people. It’s pretty much a uno reverse. I can’t even imagine what its like for someone of jewish descent IN Israel to deal/talk about being opposed to it (the pressure from fellow citizens to stfu and soldier on etc). Let alone the ones physically trying to help the palestinians especially anyone in aid or red cross etc. Can’t even imagine… I would probably cry every day and im one of those gruff type men…I lost my doctor to him going back “Home” to palestine to help just after and im terrified I’ll never see him again. He was such a good doctor and generous man. I really hope he’s still around. Still kinda zionist as long as it means that the jewish people deserve a safe home. So we might be ok there? But again ty to so many for posting the info you have. I’ve found it very educational.
