Agreed, and I neither voted for Bernie in the primary nor Trump in the general. I voted for Clinton both times. But she lost the election to Trump for exactly 2 reasons:

the game is rigged thanks to a shitty system that doesn’t allocate votes fairly combined with years and years of gerrymandering

even still, Trump would have lost if Clinton was actually offering something that the American people genuinely wanted and could get excited about. Even while I voted for her, convinced that Trump would lose in a landslide, I knew that nobody was excited about what she was selling.
At the end of the day, the Republicans fielded a weak candidate, and it was her election to lose. Blaming it on Sanders not endorsing her fast enough is ludicrous.

Maybe it had something to do with her positions and that she was just another neo-liberal who did not speak to a lot of voters. Now if she honestly believed in all the positions on her platform, you can’t blame her.
I used to believe, and sometimes still do, that deep in her heart she is more progressive than she would appear. But just like Bill, this was pushed aside for cold political calculations.
That self righteous sanctimonious prick Comey was a factor too. And he still hasn’t had a proper come-uppance.
He was a factor, and that was a very dirty trick. Hillary should still have beaten Trump by a landslide.
So Bernie is so far left that he is barely a Democrat, and yet his full-throated endorsement of a Democrat would have made the difference? The Bernie voters who did not come out would not have come out for any Democrat. The only reason they were interested was because of Bernie.

Every person is responsible for es own vote. The people who failed to vote for her helped Trump won. Clinton didn’t make them do that.

During the election cycle I would have disagree with you. Had he buried the investigation then the outrage would be that he was withholding vital information from the electorate viz. she may have committed illegal act. As a voter I should know if a candidate is being investigated and make up my mind on the facts I changed my mind when just before the election he brought the investigation to the forefront to reveal … nothing at all. As a Pub and a Hillary-Hater even I admit that last part was a dirty trick.

There have been many discussions here about why Hillary lost. Maybe we can change the direction of the thread. If Hillary is active in the campaign, will she help or hurt theDemocratic nominee? Or will it even matter? Very few people have not made up their minds about Trump. The best way I can see her helping is to increase Democratic turnout, and maybe that will happen. Maybe those who did not come out last time and now regret it, there must be a million of them, will “make it up to her.”

Agree. If he got the nomination I’d vote for him over Trump but if the nomination goes to someone else, I hope he gets on board early and works hard for the nominee at every opportunity. We can’t afford 4 more years of Trump.
Yeah, you mean it’s bad Bernie Sanders waited until 2020 to run a real fucking campaign. Everyone who knows politics understands that candidates (typically) don’t get the nomination on their first try; they have to lay down the groundwork for years. And considering that Bernie was running against not just Hillary Clinton but the entire Democratic party establishment, which included Barack Obama, one really should ask why he didn’t at least put together a little protest primary challenge against Obama in 2012, eh?

Hillary Clinton was the wrong candidate to run for president, but within the democratic party, she was one of the most formidable establishment figures out there. She’s an incredibly skilled politician and was extremely well connected. Painting her as vulnerable to being primaried is absolutely ridiculous. And when did Sanders ever trash her using conspiracy theories and sexism? He attacked her policies, as he should have, and got a conversation going that’s having a huge impact on the field of primary candidates out there now.
I’ll take four more years of Trump, please.
