Frankly, I’ve made my point and am getting bored with these idiots and morons from New York. Feel free to kill the thread! I won’t be coming back too much anyway.
Once I stop posting and you leave this thread in the hands of these buffoons, it will quickly sink down the tubes all by itself.
I am not looking forward to the Subway Series either. Not because I hate New York (having never been there, I can’t make an honest opinion about it), but because of the inevitable media hype. (By the time they’re through beating this dead horse, it’ll be fit for sausages.) Also, you New Yorkers DO tend to brag too much. Even if it’s justified, one can tolerate only so much bragging.
Thanks, Ugly, for showing me how NOT to complain and get everyone’s sympathy.
You’re right, jab, the media coverage will be obnoxious. And New Yorkers do tend to get defensive, but obviously we wouldn’t if we didn’t like the place. Come visit some time, I’ll show you around. And theuglytruth, I seriously challenge you to go to New York and show me a currently running subway car with grafitti spray painted on it.
Seriously.
Anyway, since theuglytruth has repeatedly and reapeatedly proven himself an imbecile, I’m going to quit defending my home town in here and leave him to rot in his own ignorant malaise.
Listen Ugly, it is O.K. to post your opinions, but if you have to expect to get what you deserve after describing me thusly:
You are a whiny, stupid biatch who should be thankful that you can actually drive considering how many damaged chromosomes float within your inferior genes.
You need to live out in the country where there are wide open spaces. Still, you could benifit from the use of protective headgear as not even these wide-open spaces seems to have saved you from walking into things with your brain.
When you started on this buisness trip, you probably didn’t realize how ill-equipped you were to deal with all the people who live here. You know, the kind of people who walk upright and have shed their prehensile tails. You should have called ahead. DOT could have reserved a special asshole lane just for you.
Don’t take anything I said personally, Ugly. It’s just my opinion.
The best thing you could say about my post was about pollution. You might want to know that New York is quite far down the list for that. In fact, Houston is currently the city in this country with the worst air pollution. And if you want to bring up other cities, in Mexico City the air is almost a plasma.
Besides, I don’t live in New York right now, so it was an incorrect observation on sevral levels.

When I lived in Washington DC and the Redskins and Orioles were winning, I seem to recall that the media there and fans also were prone to bragging about their teams. Heck, in Washington, the fans and media will brag about their teams when they stink!
As such, I don’t see how New York City and the fans of that cities sports teams are any different than any others. Please show me how this might be the case?
**
Actually, DOT reports show that the traffic around the Washington DC Beltline and of course Los Angeles are the worst traffic areas in this country and have the worst rush hours. In fact, I don’t recall New York traffic getting so bad that people were shooting each other, which happened in LA several years back.

I, myself, would not blame a city I was in if I was driving around in it and I didn’t know where I was. I try and have a map handy for any foreign (to me) city I am visiting for this reason. I’d suggest you do this as well, for New York or any city.

That would be because it is an industrial area. Places where they mnufacture and refine gas and natural oil ar bound to have some air pollution problems. Texas cities with similar plants are pretty much the same.
When passing through areas like this, I will close my windows and put the AC on. The smell goes away very quickly this way, and you drive past these areas quickly as well.

Maps! Maps! See above what I said about maps!

Unlikely if we go by past history. While cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and even Vancouver have had instances of violence after a local team won a championship, this has not happened in New York.
In recent memory, the Yankees have won three World Series titles, the Rangers and Devils each won a Stanley Cup, the Giants won a Super Bowl and the Knicks have reached the NBA finals twice. None of the fans reactions happened there.
Why do you suspect things would be different this time?

Actually, you would probably only be cutting your nose to spite your face!
New York is the center of many things in this country - most notably, the heart of our nation’s financial infrastructure. If, say, New York were to be burned down, the results would be devestating for Americans the country over, and this would also have negative repercussions internationally as well.
“New Yorkers are obnoxious, arrogant, loud, pushy, backstabbing, smelly, greasy and live like animals.”
Yeah, I’m sure Madonna’s living like a pig in her 20 million dollar condo on the upper West Side. It’s so easy insulting millions of people when you’re hiding behind your monitor, isn’t it?
You’re just spouting shit that you know isn’t true just to get a rise out of people. And the responses are more entertaining than you are.
I’m sorry the Center of the Universe isn’t what you’d like it to be, ugly.
I’m closing this thread. So until ugly finds another completely ridiculous thing to distort and complain about, everyone wave bye-bye.
