Umm, I don’t think Shodan is actually posting them. I believe all they’re doing is indexing the cameras and allowing one to search them. The cameras themselves are who is making the images available over the internet. Shodan allows you to search for insecure anything, that the cameras are in the class of insecure devices attached to the internet is the owner’s or manufacturers fault.
Why would the world want to look at a sleeping cat … although I sure would hate it if someone hacked my rig and found out I listen to Dr Laura … not sure I could live that down …

There are roughly a gazillion bars and nightspots offering anyone with an Internet connection live views from cams inside their establishments, no hacking required.
Removing the sticker isn’t exactly a huge barrier to showing off your ding a ling - unless you are sitting around nekkid all the time, with a penis in a state of showing off, there are a few steps to getting ready - doesn’t seem like removing a piece of masking tape is the biggest barrier to entry.
