Agreed. I think it is fair to describe Biden/Harris as pro genocide and I’m not convinced that Trump is any worse than the Dems on the genocide of the Palestinian people. What it comes down to is a lot of blue voters are pretty indifferent to the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Though I certainly take your point, I don’t necessarily agree with it.
I also don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. The ‘cult’ (a/k/a demagogue) aspect – IMHO – is the very apotheosis of “falling in line.”
Consider – primarily in Trump 2.0 – the fealty, allegiance, and sycophancy demonstrated by the electeds who have contorted themselves into pretzels in supporting and defending his insanity.
And the mere fact that most of us can name a small handful of electeds who have openly turned their backs on Trump in one way or another is testament to the ‘fall in line’ nature of both his hold and their allegiance.
I highly doubt that even a single MAGA elected is – in any way, shape, or form – in love with Trump. It’s unabashed self-interest, manifested as loyalty (falling in line).
Richard Nixon resigned with a 24% approval rating. Some people will never come to rationality absent a frontal lobotomy.
Are the MAGA faithful in love or are they in line?
I think there’s probably plenty of both … with This Fucking Guy.
Fine you are ok with fascists then. I’m not. Fuck them.
This is the last I’ll say on the subject. It’s been gone over innumerable times since the election. But there is no way to sugar coat. It doesn’t matter how crap Democrats were, how crap the media were, how the billionaires tipped the balance, etc etc. if you didn’t vote for Harris you voted for fascism fuck you.
Looking forward, the Democrats are going to be crap. They are going to nominate a milquetoast centerist white guy, that was inevitable from the moment harris lost. We all need to actively support them with every fiber of our being to have any chance of avoiding a permanent fascist dictatorship. That’s the shitty situation we are in and we just need to deal with it. (Yes, this is not a good campaign strategy and the Democrats should not make it their campaign strategy but it is the way it is)
LOL I am sure you are also not convinced he is in any worse health than any democratic president either
No. Just what I said. I lived and worked in the West Bank and Biden/Harris supported genocide but felt a little bad about it. People like you just want everyone to shut up about it until the last Palestinian child is dead.
I get it, it’s hard to admit you voted for fascism, mass genocide of the Palestinian and the extinction of the gaza strip. Denial is much easier.
Doesn’t change the facts though.
Yeah and fuck you, you fucking moron.
Has the thought occurred to you that YOU (and people like you) are the problem?
We’re much closer to the midterms than the last presidential election.
How about instead of trying to divide the left, and blame people for not diligently voting Dem while being spat on, we don’t do that and focus instead on what we can do to make the party more electable to more people?
Also, fuck you.
I voted for Harris but I object to your fuck you so…fuck you back. WTF is wrong with you? I get the choice of Trump or Harris should be an easy one for Harris. I object to a party that gives us milquetoast Harris as our only choice. Biden was even worse. Which is why some fuck like Trump ever has a chance. Dems need to get a clue. You’d think Trump getting elected is the biggest clue ever that they are doing something wrong but nope…doing the same dumbfuck shit (looking at you Schumer).
This is where “both parties are the same” comes from. Both are beholden to special interests and, often, those special interests are buying both sides of the aisle.
Voting for the lesser of two evils has led to a Democratic Party that isn’t cleaning it’s own house of misconduct.
And a Working Class so alienated that they will vote for anybody, ANYBODY whop isn’t Part One nor Party Two.
Right? I mean, besides creating the ACA marketplace and extending dependent coverage to 26, creating Medicare drug price negotiation, adding insulin caps for seniors, expanding the ACA subsidies, adding a child tax credit that reduced poverty by a huge chunk (before the GOP gutted it), and expanding broadband to rural areas, what the fuck have the Dems ever done for the working class?
Nine people on a bus:
- Three vote to drive over a cliff.
- Two vote to get ice cream.
- Four don’t bother to vote.
Everybody dies!
It doesn’t matter that the ice cream was not especially good or that the ice cream vendor wears bad shirts; none of those things make driving off a cliff (or protesting by not voting at all) the better choice.
I’m sorry but the idea that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden were “centrist at best” is delusional… at best.
Not a fascist, but certainly a useful idiot, sort of like the Weimar communists who had the slogan “After Hitler, Us”.
How about instead of bending over backwards again for assholes we bent over backwards for before only for them to stay home and let Trump win while delusionally claiming that that they were “spat on”, we tell those assholes to fuck off and appeal to actual voters?
If you like fascism, absolutely seems like great plan.
I don’t, which is why I think we should appeal to the American electorate, not some utopian socialist ideal of what we wish the working class believed.
Which sounds great, but if the result is anything other than wholeheartedly supporting whichever candidate the Democrats pick, no matter how much you disagree with them, then that is a pro fascist position.
No, instead you’d prefer to be like the Weimar liberals, slowly sliding into the Nazis camp because of their disdain for the left.
I’m so glad you agree Democrats should stop trying to bend over backwards and appeal to “centrist” voters who not 15 years ago would have been considered hard right, and who are never going to vote for them!
Tell that to the “non-committed” inadvertent Trump supporters.
Hilarious historical revisionism. The Liberals were the only ones fighting back against the Nazis. It’s incredible to me that the far left today tried to appropriate that time as if the Nazis aren’t partially their fault. Every time I see a guy with a three arrows logo who clearly forgot who the third arrow is for, I die a little inside.
If the Democrats had done such a thing, I’d agree that they should stop. In reality, though, Kamala and Biden ran to the left of any prior presidential candidates. The idea that the pivoted to the right is fucking delusional.
Don’t necessarily disagree with any of that but none of that is going to change between now and 2028. Harris’ failure as a presidential candidate guarantees that (which is total bs, she was not particularly left wing and her failure had very little to with her policy position anyway) but it’s a fact we need to deal with.
That’s the reality we find ourselves in, support whoever you want in the primaries, but when the Democrats choose a milquetoast centrist white man like Gavin Newsom we all need to get behind and support them with every fiber of our being. That milquetoast centrist white man is the only thing that stands a chance of preventing a permanent fascist dictatorship. Any other position is a pro fascist stance.
