It was about six minutes long. He was sitting in his very expensive BMW. He said that this would be his final video and that he would be taking revenge. He described himself as 22 years old and never even kissed a woman. He was bitter because college was supposed to be about partying and getting sex and he was denied that. He claimed that he was going to go into a sorority house and shoot the place up (he didn’t actually do this part).
What he did was a slow drive by. Police were on the scene in a few minutes. This isn’t surprising because there is a sheriff’s substation right there. IV is a very densely packed college town. There would have been many hundreds of students out having fun at the start of a three day weekend.
So all the guy needed was to get laid? Careful next time you say no, girls, you may be creating a serial killer!
Seriously though, where the hell was this guy’s head at? He’s reasonably good-looking, he has expensive wheels, he’s young, he’s healthy and he’s living in fucking California! And he’s still bitching about his life? If I were a god I would have zapped him in to the body of a dirt-poor peasant in Bangla Desh or the Congo. Then let him whine about what a crock his life is. Fucking loser didn’t deserve to be born in the first place.
Just as well. I don’t really care to see or read the manifesto of a murdering shitbag. Not Hitler’s, not Kaczynski’s, not McVeigh’s, and definitely not some sad random dork’s.
Nothing ever gets yanked from the internet. But I agree with Vinyl Turnip. I managed to watch for about a minute then had to stop it. Why? Sheer boredom. People like this are so fucking boring. Even when they think they’re being creepy or menacing or sinister or whatever they always come across boring and completely uninteresting.
What occurs to me, after watching the video, is that perhaps no one took him seriously because he seemed too ‘mousy’ to be violent. Ironic that he was complaining about being treated like a mouse. He had a disconnect between his words and emotions in the video.
What’s really sad is there’s probably several women who are thinking that right now. Wish there was a way to convince them it’s not their fault.

Well, all wry-sarcasm-as-a-coping-mechanism-for-the-utter-depression-that-is-the-human-experience aside, there’s a part of me that kinda gets him. I never was a narcissistic entitled cunt… OK, rewind, I never was that much of a narcissistic entitled cunt, I hope, and my crazy stayed in relative check, but the whole “society’s been telling me all my life that I should be getting crazy pussy right now and I don’t, WTF ?” shtick of his ? I can relate.
I mean, I personally turned that shit inwards (i.e. “I’m not getting any, something is wrong with me”), which turned me into a depressive suicidal overly dramatic person, which ironically eventually got me some. I do not advocate turning it outwards to “what is wrong with society”, and I certainly don’t advocate “it’s all you cunts’ fault !”…
Buuut that social pressure and stigma is not innocent. This was a crazy guy who reacted to a social force in a crazy way, but that doesn’t mean the underlying societal paradigm more-educated-than-I-am something something he was struggling with is all hunky dory.
Again, don’t get me wrong : his rampage and the whole tragedy is his fault. 98% his fault.

Yeah, I see it too. On paper at least, the kid should have been swimming in popularity. To figure out why he wasn’t popular, he’d have to consider the role of his personality. Maybe that was too much for him to handle due to mental instability.
He was probably one of those types that as soon as a poor woman showed a little bit of interest or even kindness, he was suddenly sending texts every fifteen minutes and posting weird shit all over their facebook.
It seems he had a lot of issues about himself, self hate and racism… Would one or two sexual encounters have been enough? If they were lined up around the.block and the world bowed down… Maybe. But a tragic waste of living one’s own life to please an irrational fantasy. I don’t think society hurt him any more than it did anyone else. Women who are “sluts”, not good enough or a “ten”. Or anyone else not pedestaled every day of their lives (and as a rich guy he had to have been put above many).

There are now reports that he family was alarmed about some of his earlier youtube videos and contacted local authorities who interviewed him and didn’t find a threat mainly because they didn’t think that he had access to guns.
His face book page is very sad. Almost all of his pictures are of him or his car. A couple of him with his Dad and step-Mom at the Hunger Games premier (his dad was involved with the production). No pictures of friends at all.
Ironically, he probably pinned 2% on the taunting bullies.
