I would strongly suggest to the Democrats that they should not invade Iraq.
The horse you’ve been riding so hard lately, steeplechasing from thread to thread, is dead, Doors. All of the discussion of the possible downside of electronic voting was–and remains–perfectly legitimate. It’s retarded and illogical to suggest–let alone insist, as you unfathomably continue to do–that the fact that not all the worst-case scenarios trumpeted by the extremest doomsayers came to pass is somehow absolute proof that the discussion itself never should have taken place. For all we know it’s because the discussion *was *conducted openly that the problems were, apparently, avoided. So bury the pony already and find another trick.
Who is this mythical “truly competent” one of which you speak?
He’s got to be talking about this guy. But we’re going to have to wait til 2012 or 2016 for the accension.
Why, that Diebold had managed to steal another election from the will of The People, of course.
Why do you ask?
Don’t ANY of you understand what happemed Tuesday?
Very simple – Diebold switched parties.
Expressed my sentiments perfectly. Thanks. Saved me some typing.
I tried to make a clever comparison between him being rejected now and his mandate from before and how they’re equal and all that, but I guess I’m just not saavy enough to do so.
Can we add this line to The Star Spangled Banner?
Good bit of rant there, Aeschines. Perhaps a bit restrained, circumspect. Might well have done similarly, but finding it hard to type intelligibly when I break out in chortling fits every few minutes. Hard to keep a convincing rage with a shit-eating grin. So thanks for picking up the slack, and amen.
Sic 'em!
ahahahahahahahhahahahahahaah
hahahahhahahahaha
That’s a good one.
I think it’s good for the country that the Republicans lost. I have absolutely no faith that the Democrats will do any better. I hope I am proven wrong.
Since Bush wasn’t running for anything, I don’t see how he lost anymore than Clinton did in ‘94. It wasn’t a “we hate Bush lets vote Democrat” election (well it probably was for some), I think the Republicans beat themselves by not being strong on the issues, by spending more than Democrats would if they were in power (I really have NO clue who’s the party of big or small governement anymore), and several other things. I don’t think the war in Iraq was #1 on voters’ minds though, I believe it was the Republicans being weak. I personally like the shifting of power, the Republicans had become complacent and didn’t give a crap about what their voting core wanted. Maybe this will force them to wake up. Of course, I seriously doubt that. They’ll just figure out what to say long enough to get reelected, and then go back to setting up their own retirement plans and making their buddies rich while screwing the rest of us and making the government even more bloated. I think I heard a statistic that on exit polls a HUGE portion of people (it was like 60-70%) said the Republicans were the party of big government - not exactly the platform they usually run on to get elected.
Maybe the Democrats will get some crap done that the people want. I’m not sure if Nancy Pelosi is the one to lead the Democrats though, as I don’t think she speaks well for the Midwest and Southeast Democrats.
OR we could all consider voting for a 3rd party, like the Libertarians…but that would just be asinine, wouldn’t it?
Er, isn’t the point of Libertarianism that it’s asinine?
Thank you for mentioning the Democratic loss of 1994.
Actually, if the Libertarian votes in my congressional district had all gone to the Republican candidate, he may well have won (9th- Indiana).
Why would they have voted for that idiot? I saw Hoesttlletter (spelling?) signs all over the place when I went to Evansville recently. Or was that some other guy?
Adults? I’ll be happy if we get a better set of children in charge. The Brady kids instead of the children of Triacus, for instance.
Knock Knock
Who’s there?
Donald Rumsfeld
Donald Rumsfeld…who?
Exactly!
Has everyone forgotten the pubbie meme from back in 2000?
Bush Picks Rumsfeld for Pentagon
Gallup: 84% Say Bush Is Leading Country In Right Direction; 92% Approval On Speech
Hey, I simply asked a question, to which I have not received an answer. If you believe that the system still works after seeing the election results, what would you have said had those results been different? The answer is seemingly obvious, but it might not be, and I’m curious as to what the poster meant.
As for you, lissener, your attack is unwarranted, because I never said anything like what you are implying I said.
