Fuck you, east coast "liberals." Fuck you, west coast "liberals."

All due respect, Clinton is not a substitute for Obama. I think the democrats who vote for Hellary will be suprised to find that she will use the military like Bill used his schwantz, only on a more global scale, and with horrible results. As the first woman president, she will have more to prove than perhaps you realize, and would make, I think, GeeDub look like a bit of a pacifist when provoked. She would be the worst, most divisive choice our country could possibly make, IMO. Plus, either a Clinton or Bush has been in office for FAR too long. McCain is the right choice for the GOP because although they may believe he can win, I don’t believe the same is true. The Republicans have worn out their welcome in the big house, this is the dems year, and if it’s her they choose, I’m staying home in November.

Ahem, Chicago IS a major urban center, case ya haven’t noticed. And while we may be a proud bunch, we aren’t as smug as to consider ourselves the center (or centre) of the known universe as those from the right coast might.

Get the fuck over yourself. “Hillary will use the millitary like Bill used his peter.” And Obama will have to use the military in white countries, while not using it in African countries to prove to the whities that he’s not biased against whites.

I haven’t seen any recent national poll results, but the last ones showed Hillary being able to easily beat McCain in a national election, with Obama coming so close to McCain as to not beat the margin of error in the polls. Screeching that if Obama doesn’t get the nom you won’t vote, is no better than Coulter’s whinging that if McCain get’s the nom, she’ll campaign for Hillary. Sixteen straight years of Dems in the White House will shatter the GOP, and force them to finally get their shit together.

Oh, no, nothing to do with Dixiecrats - they all went Republican in the 60’s…which was totally unrelated to Johnson and the Civil Rights movement, or so it’s claimed by some.

No, down in MS “Democrat” is a synonym for “nigger”. In most places I’ve seen the typical (no, folks, I don’t need a bunch of people shouting that "Well, I’m and I’m not !) division between Republican and Democrat is related to financial standing - in Mississippi it’s race.

It’s not absolute, of course (see above parenthetical), but it’s pretty standard here.

I voted for Barack. It was for his inspirational charisma* rather than white guilt (didn’t even think of that one).
I’m surprised and disappointed at the short-sightedness shown by Democrats. No Republican I’ve ever heard would even think about voting for Clinton, but I’ve heard enough of them say they’d consider Barack. I’ve heard some Dems say they’d consider McCain. Hillary is even more polarizing than Bush. I’m sick of it.

*: The man drips charisma, but being inspirational means he can not only charge up an audience with his oratory skills, but also motivate his direct staff (ie, his cabinet) to achieve great things under his leadership.

The GOP did fine with 40 consecutive years of Democrat House control. Something most people don’t realize is the GOP has always been the minority party. The GOP has impacted the country primarily through winning Presidential elections.

I think whether or not the GOP “did fine” is very much an open question, regardless of one’s personal orientation.

Ah, so that’s the official line now?

“2008 will be a crushing loss, but it will really be a victory! You’ll tall the magnitude of our victory by the scale of our defeat!”.

I wish reaity was that mutable for me.

It didn’t stop McCain from sucking George’s cock after the character assassination they did on him.

While I think buttonjockey’s comments are over the top, I have to ask - how long ago was it that Rove was working on his “permanent Republican majority?”

Technically, we’re both west and east coast, geographically speaking.

She killed Vince Foster too.

Never forget, America.

Wow. I don’t doubt you, but that’s not the case in North Carolina by a long shot. GK Butterfield, Bob Etheridge, David Price, Mike McIntyre, Heath Shuler, and Brad Miller are all white Democratic Congressmen from North Carolina. Our governor and lieutenant governor are white Democrats. That’s part of why it bothers me when the national media seems to assume that all Southern white men are racist troglodytes. (Sure, some are, but not all.)

Hillary means more Limbaugh/Coulter hatred - right back to the polarizing and paralyzing vitrol of the Clinton impeachment, tit for tat bullshit like taking the "w"s off the keyboards in the White House.
Obama may well end up being a similar target, but at least he’s starting with a clean slate. That he is a brilliant man, gifted orator, and inspirational leader is good too.

If we just surrendered to bin Laden, he’d put an end to that. Plus, he wouldn’t hate us anymore either. That’d be a double win for your vision of America!

On behalf of my fellow Connecticut East Coast liberals, I’d like to invite you to get bent.

I agree with you completely in principle, but I think the keyboard thing didn’t actually happen.

Oh, don’t worry. Our last governor was a white democrat. It’s not like it’s absolute, and this thread will shortly be full of people screaming that I’m a horrible person who just "doesn’t understand, it’s not like that, and here’s hundreds of anecdotes showing how wrong I am.

But it is bad, not matter what people try to convince you. Because I, too, am a honky, I can even tell you what happens when you cross a “Democrat” with an octopus. It’s assumed down here that I’d appreciate the joke - just like it’s assumed that I’m a Republican.

I know, that’s what it sounds like. Still, the HH* may not be reasonable, but it is heartfelt. About 49% of the country actively loathes this woman, and if I can help it, I’m not going to just shove her up their collective ass to spite them.
ETA: I meant to point out as well that Republicans, if they’re Americans, are not our enemies, although that’s not always obvious.

*that’s Hillary Hate.

Better tell us, then.
