Hence my preference for energy-efficient one-line snipes over in-depth analysis.

I opposed the Iraq war on this board from the first threads on the subject, and in fact from the beginnings of the Afghan bombing discussions.
I don’t object to your posts because I support any part of the Republican Party, or its leaders, or their policies. I object because they are pointless, insipid, and reflect poorly on the genuine dissatisfaction that deserves to be brought out by people willing to actually engage in the hard work of expository rhetoric. This particular board has very high, if very unofficial standards. You need to suck it up, get over yourself, and do the job, or be thought a buffoon, and make everyone who agrees with you wince when they see you on their side.

As to rjung, while I might not have agreed with the particular post that prompted this pitting, he is generally heads and shoulders above many other posters here. And, as I said before, xtisme had historically been one to voice support for Bush and think about it later. I was particularly frustrated to work and work to get him to understand a point, only to have him revert to form within a day or two.
He is, on the other hand, capable of critical thinking, which distinguishes him completely and pleasantly from fucking Shodan-bot, as well as many other brain-dead conservative lick-spittles here.
Who? If you mean Xtisme then I agree that he is capable of critical thinking. If you mean rjung than you’re crazy. Rjung (in any type of political thread) is an ignorant goat testicle capable of doing nothing more than repeating “Bush sucks! You’re a Bush apologist” over and over and over and over and over. Parrots have a wider range of things to say than he does, and likely a slightly higher IQ.
Wasn’t rjung suspended at one point for being a one-liner and also doing the Mac-taunting? I read a lot of threads here and post to very few, but have to say that I definitely notice rjung’s one-liner stupidity everywhere, even in inappropriate threads. I mean, we could be complaining about Sony recalling batteries, and it would be Bush’s fault. He pushes the line anywhere he can, and only leaves it alone (mostly) in GQ where he has been specifically warned about doing it in the past.
His behavior in terms of political debating can ONLY be termed as trollish, and I wouldn’t mourn his contributions elsewhere on the board were he to reap the consequences of his trollhood. I’ve never noticed any particularly insightful contribution from him.

Umm, Handy? I think his name was? He had the most posts for years, then was banned recently? Not really a bad guy, in fact I don’t think he should have been banned, but damn his posts were contentless one liners.
There are few things more annoying that some dude asking about the Spyware that has infect his PC and some idiot Mac-ophile driving by with same asshole comment like “Well, if you had a Mac like me you wouldn’t have any problems”. That should be bannable. Now, maybe, if some dude asks “What is the right PC for me to buy?” then a query of “Have you considered a Mac? Blahblahblahetcetcetc” is tolerable.
I’ve already indicated who I think holds that title. Are you seriously going to tell me that Shodan is not far and away worse for generating contentless, one line driveby posts? Nearly everything that guy writes is exactly what he wrote just a few posts up from this one. Or do you not count them as one liners because they all have two fucking lines taken up with his “Regards, Shodan” bullshit?
I am willing to not automatically discount the possibility that, since I agree with what rjung says, I might be less sensitive to the impact of his posts. However, just scanning over the first couple pages of “view all posts” results for rjung, and even skipping over the non-political ones, I do not see support for him as particularly deserving of such condemnation.
Too bad they don’t give the average length of post in that statistic. From my own memory rjung (at least in GD) usually posts a single sentence…maybe with a quote from someone he’s trying to accuse of being a Bush supporter. Shodan, reguardless of if you agree with his politics or view point or not, usually posts significantly more (again, this is from memory on my part…I’m willing to be proved wrong).
In GD at least its pretty clear who is most guilty of drive by posting.
Shodan, in my experience, uses a different technique, although it tends to be highly partisan as well. He’ll argue with you until the cows comes home, stating things that are mostly his own opinion and difficult to prove. **rjung **makes one stupid post and then flees the scene whenever asked to provide any cites. I’d hardly call **Shodan **a drive-by poster, though.
