They gave us a new (same) phone. They still made them.
We were under the assumption that the replacement phone was good for one year from when it was replaced, not the start of the contract. They thought otherwise.
I guess the phone was covered for faulty factory stuff for one year.

Good luck! I’ve actually had some success with cell phone companies, but I haven’t had this particular problem.
