It’s probably overgeneralizing to say they’re all rural – Detroit’s suburbs and Michigan’s many mid-sized cities probably have their share of MAGA-topped idiots, too. And now they’ve all exposed each other and their rural buddies to the virus, which I would actually celebrate, except that they’ve also raised the exposure potential for every grocery clerk and nurse in their unfortunate hometowns.
Nobody’s lying about shit except conservatives. You enable this kind of behavior by being associated with them and by “leaning right.” It’s indifference that provides the fertile ground from which the seeds of radicalism sprout.
I will applaud all communications you make distancing (hah!) yourself from the jackasses. You’ll find out real quick who really likes to throw people under the bus.

In looking at photos of the protests, I’ve seen more than one that’s included a sign reading “Live Free or Die.”
It occurs to me they’re using the wrong conjunction.
These look like the sort of sophisticates who would likely own their own private aircraft. I presume they’re suggesting that during this difficult time, airport landing fees should be waived, especially since they’re planning on doing a of traveling all over the country, spreading good cheer and whatever else they have to spread.

Generously assuming the sign meant “Land of the Free”, it occurs to me that these idiots’ definition of freedom is quite narrow. It apparently means “I can do whatever I want and you can’t make me.” They do not seem to acknowledge that if the law of the land says I can do whatever I want, then other people can do whatever they want too. For example, if the guy in the green scrubs wants to stand in the crosswalk, hey, land of the free. It’s his right to do that, and the idiots in the car yelling at him are, by their own logic, completely wrong to be offended.
Of course, the law of the land says nothing of the kind, and Logic has never met these people, although Stupidity knows them very well.

We an shut these thing down simply be spreading the rumor that virus-carrying Democrats are planning to infiltrate these demonstrations. They’ll believe it because A) They’re paranoid kooks and B) It’s exactly what they’d do.

Aren’t you a titch surprised none of they health care providers are dropping them, and their families?
American health insurers have a solid reputation for dropping people for the slightest thing.
This seems like huge potential to cost the insurer large. ICU, ventilator, you could infect everyone in your house, probably all insured by the same company. The bill could be very high.
So, why haven’t we heard about anyone being dropped for cause, as in, ignoring the quarantine?
Or, am I misunderstanding? Is the refusal ‘for cause’ done only after you’ve been hospitalized and treated maybe? To be honest, I sorta thought this would self correct, in the US, as health insurers wouldn’t have it. But it’s been nothing but crickets.

It would be ironic if a reason this hasn’t (apparently) happened much were some provision in ACA (Obamacare).
I think the ACA removed a lot of degrees of freedom for that crap. I think historically what they did when you turned out to be expensive was troll back through your history to try and make things ‘pre-existing’ to your paying them. Since they can’t deny you for that anymore, it is harder to drop folks.
No matter what they do or who they drop, they are screwed. No way they can cover. So, they are going to go to Trump’s door with their begging bowl all polished. They cannot afford to annoy the American public in any way, shape or form.
Excellent idea! Or, alternatively, force them to volunteer in a New York hospital, an Italian crematorium, or a Quebec nursing home for a few weeks, so that their choices will be better informed.
The overlap between those saying, ‘well that black fellow just should have followed the rules!’, ‘those migrants just should have followed the rules!’, and those marching in the streets screaming, ‘we don’t have to follow any of your rules!’, is both humorous and tragic, dontcha think?
