I won’t be watching the Emmys, period. If I was in the entertainment biz, I imagine that I’d go for the full speeches, but I’m not, so I won’t even subject myself to the broadcast version on TV.
If I were an award recipient, I’d feel really strange saying my thank-you speech, walking off the stage to applause, then down some stairs to a camera, where I was expected to talk into it and say even more thank-yous. Does anyone else think this would be weird?
“HURRAY I JUST WON AN EMMY”
“Congratulations multimediac17 on your win! Any MORE people you’d like to thank, after you’ve had ample time to thank them not five seconds ago, where people were actually watching and caring?”
“Er… awkward stare into the camera”
I’ll most likely record the Emmy’s so I can fast forward to what I want to see. If Julie Bowen were to win for “Modern Family”, I would look at the online longer speech if I could select just her speech. If I have to go thru the whole thing, the answer is no.
I don’t watch the Emmys at all, so I won’t be watching this… but I confess that if they did it for the Oscars, I might tune in. The Oscar ceremony has been such a mess the last few years, though…
