Can’t help thinking this is like the pillories of the Middle Ages, putting up the prisoners for display and mockery.

Sorry. Can’t see the “fun game” in this.

and my odd sense of humor falls flat again sigh

after your done with that game play six degrees of sex offender separation
where you try to connect yourself with a sex offender with less than six intermediaries

What I find amazing is that they publish the addresses of offenders that have been released.

only the offenders which are under “community supervision”. The OP was not meant to be insensitive. It was just my wierd and sarcastic way of asking why this is necessary. I should have made my intent clearer. Sorry if I offended.

Well, I couldn’t find an offender with my first and last name. Still, a neat link. I don’t have a problem with this type of site - if you don’t want your name to be mocked, then don’t break the law. Simple as that. (Granted, this would suck for someone who was wrongfully convicted, but I imagine those are a very small portion of the inmates.)

This is all public record. Wisconsin has a similar site for searching (almost) all of the Wisconsin Circuit Court records. Plug in your friends’ names and check out their speeding tickets, civil suits, restraining orders, etc. Mr. S’s doofus brother-in-law’s rap sheet is quite long and varied. My lonely speeding ticket is in there. Available to anyone.

DreadCthulhu, this is more correct than you could imagine. I have a family member who was wrongly convicted of a crime in Florida and yes, I did find him on that website. :frowning:

Don’t laugh. I went to school with one Ronald Heath while growing up in Jax FL. He’s a fine member of Death Row now - repeat offender. I found him while Googling for a class reunion contact list.

Scary.

If I had testified against someone, I would find this a handy way of checking their status.

hmmmmmm…didn’t think of that…

Yeah, I’ve done a few things. Selling cocaine and marijuana, burglary, grand larceny, illegal possession of a firearm, sexual assault, murder, and having a peculiar haircut. In fact, I’m currently doing time in four seperate prisons. I’m bad news alright.

As anyone notice it is basically the same interface as the dating Internet sites??

Here’s some of the cute one’s (by DC Numbers):

W20865, N08204, P20232, X30594, U17500, X38315, R26292, M41677, E20292, R33469…

Great tool for extortion - I’ll know where to go if I ever need a date in Florida (althought I’ll be careful to stay away from the battery and manslaughters case…)!!

Thanks torie!
