Funniest single panel cartoon (part 2)

Tame, maybe, but I love it. Maybe there should be a Most Unsettling single panel cartoon thread?

What’s the artist’s name? (Can’t make it out)

Looks like it says “Dagsson”.

ETA: Some are actually quite funny.

There’s a German single-panel strip that’s been around for ages called Nichtlustig. One of their running gags is lemming-suicides, hard to pick a favorite.

If Germans are known for one thing, it’s got to be their sense of humor.

Is that why the strip is called “Not Funny”? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The Addams Family was based on a single-panel cartoon by Charles Addams, and I’ve found this one to be entertaining in a perfectly Addams way: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/lurch-gomez-and-morticia-dispatching-christmas-carolers-2399-by-brechtbug-via-flickr--221591244136551945/

And one more oldie, Bill Maudlin was a cartoonist during WWII and did single-panel strips that showed the dark humor often found in war. This is one of my favorites and bonus points if you can tell us what TV show (and actor) did the same thing…

I’ll give it a shot. Spoilered, in case anybody else wants to try:

Colonel Potter, played by Harry Morgan. The show was MASH.

I’m curious why upthread people were able to put the comic in their post, but then it devolved into links. I don’t want to click links. I just want to see the cartoons.

Here’s a couple of @The_Stainless_Steel_Rat’s recent ones:

and

(a well-known classic that was brought to life in the 1991 film)

In both cases, I clicked the link, then right-clicked on the image and selected “Open image in new tab” which gave me a link to the image itself, then pasted that link here on a line by itself.

Thank you

This is one of my favourite (non-family) Addams ones:

There is that single panel of a father shaving in front of the mirror, straight razor at his throat, and his kid sneaking up behind him holding an inflated balloon and a pin. Can’t find a link.

Was looking for this one in color, but I guess B&W will have to do…

Another one that is quite fitting for this time of the … tetranum?

Much thanks to Thudlow Boink, will try to do better next time, and Spoons is right on the nose.

Press on.

I’ve always enjoyed Tom Cheney’s work. His cartoons have been in the New Yorker for many years and I think of him as the less famous Gary Larson.

Another one I can’t find online: In an office marked “Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms”, we see a disheveled man sitting at a desk. He is has a drink, a cigarette and is holding a gun to his head.

Don’t recall seeing that one. But for the same gag:

I dare say that the missile version is funnier than a straight razor. Explosions are funny (see Looney Tunes). Slicing your neck open with a razor? Not so much, even if it’s just in the imagination.

Col Potter (Harry Morgan) on MASH.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Damned if I know why, and it’s frustrating as hell!
