I about lost it over the WKRP episode where Venus tried to convince Johnny they could be good “gone with the wind-ers” as Johnny tried to get out of a condo purchase…
Blackadder 3, “Sense and Senility” aka the actors episode. Nearly everything.
“Hot potato, orchestra stalls, Puck will make amends.”
ROOOOAAAARunaccustomed as I am to public speaking…
“Caesar! Caesar! Look out!!”
Yeah. The whole damned episode.
The Dayman/Nightman scene was probably the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a TV show when I first saw it.
WKRP in Cincinnatti, the Thanksgiving episode, when they dropped turkeys from a helicopter, with predictable results.
Rats! You beat me to it!
Especially the big punchline, when Rob asks the guy why he didn’t just tell him (you-know-what), and the guy answers: “What? And miss seeing the look on your face?”
God, that was a great sitcom.
.
Seconded.
That Frasier clip was hysterical…and I never was much of a fan.
“All right Mr. Kramden, for one hundred dollars - who is the composer of Swanee River?”
We then see an absolutely priceless reaction from Jackie Gleason, followed by an answer that makes me laugh every time I think of it.
I won’t spoil it for those who are unfamiliar. Go rent, buy or steal the Honeymooners episodes The $99,000 Answer.
So many funny sitcom moments. . .
But one that had me absolutely dying was from Cheers:
The backstory is that Coach had to renew his driver’s license. He decided to take the test in New Hampshire because he heard that test was easier.
So there’s a phone call in the bar. Sam picks it up.
Sam: “Hi, Cheers. Oh, hi Coach. Oh, you did? Oh, that’s great! Fantastic!”
Hangs up.
Diane: “Did he pass the test?”
Sam: “No, he found New Hampshire.”
Very minor nitpick, but it was Professor Sumner Sloan, not Frasier.
God I need a life.
Best part was the lightning round:
“What was Monica’s nickname when she was a field hockey goalie?”
“Big Fat Goalie”
“Correct”
I’m surprised nobody has yet mentioned Macho Business Donkey Wrestler from News Radio.
“What did you mean when you said ‘Feel my skills, donkey, donkey, donkey donkey?’”
One of my favourites was from Father Ted. Ted and Dougal write a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. That scene is brilliant on its own. But for me its eclipsed by the video for their song “My Lovely Horse”
This one was good, but the one that really got me was Charlie in The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis.
“Guys, why aren’t the brakes working?”
“Because I cut the brakes! Wild card, bitches! Yeee-haw!”
I fell off the couch laughing.
Coupling made me laugh out loud on a regular basis. I think this one is my favorite:
Most of Senfeld from about Season 4-9 is funny, but the most recent sitcom moment I remember really laughing hard at was during My Name is Earl. Randy found an old puppet from his childhood that liked to blurt out embarassing things about him. Randy and Earl had also recently discovered that their mom had cheated on their dad when they were kids. Randy’s dad walked up and the puppet started to tell him that information and Randy tore the head off of the doll to shut it up. Later in the episode he burned the puppet in the driveway.
Also from Coupling, when Jeff tries to explain why he has too many legs.
Wasn’t that *every *episode?
I was just about to. Taxi, btw.
And that poor guy whos’ car was always getting hit.
“Why is someone trying to ruin my life?!”
But my all-time favorite Always Sunny moment (at least right now, it changes day to day) is Charlie’s “Kitten Mittons!!” video. (and unlike most Always Sunny clips, this one is actually works safe! Astonishing!)
Trailer Park boys, the Samsquamch opening
best part is that Julian doesn’t spill his drink.
For those unfamiliar with the series Julian (The guy in the fur) is never seen without a rum and coke in his hand, never! (ok when he was asleep it wasn’t but usually he always has it)
And of course the strangest, funniest, episode Conky!
