I wish I could find the clip, but another one of my favorites. From 3rd rock. For some reason the gang is convinced one of their friends is on to them. That person is over at their house and says something that makes them totally sure he/she knows they are aliens. They all move over to the other end of the kitchen and form a huddle to decide what to do about the situation. After a few seconds Dick stands up and says, loudly, “We are not killing anyone”.
Another moment from Third Rock from the Sun is when Dick gets trapped in a stairwell and starts going stir crazy to the point where he creates a literal sock puppet who sings Danny Boy. Just thinking about it is making me grin.
Another 3rd Rock–Harry and Vicky and the Thanksgiving leftovers, When Harry put the turkey carcus on hs head, I thought I was going to bust a gut from laughing. Sexist food scene since Tom Jones.
Coupling - the entire time in the fertility clinic and the discussion about porn.
A Mr Bean Xmas programme had Mr Bean cooking a Xmas turkey which somehow ended up on his head!
Good one! I was an avid watcher of Cheers almost from the beginning. I remember seeing this one when it originally aired (as an hour-long episode), and thinking it was the funniest episode of the entire series.
The Mr. Bean scene where Bean and his girlfriend are snuggling and she’s leafing through a magazine. She sees a picture of a beautiful diamond engagement ring and her eyes light up. She shows it to him hopefully. He looks at it, nods and smiles. She throws her arms around him and gives him a big kiss.
Next scene: Bean is walking along an idyllic small-town street, all decorated for Christmas. He sees a jewelry store with gorgeous rings displayed in the window. He looks at them, his eyes light up as he remembers the picture. He goes into the store.
Next scene: Bean hands his girlfriend a little box. She’s thrilled and opens it – and there’s the picture of the ring! Just what she asked him for!
The most quoted sitcom line in my family comes from Third Rock - a brief moment when Dick opens his mail, reads it, and suddenly throws his hands up and shouts “I’ve got platinum status!”. Everyone else runs over and celebrates madly. We use it a lot when reading junk mail.
The DB Cooper scenario in NewsRadio is also classic. That show was genius.
This is a famous outtake from The Carol Burnett Show with Tim Conway deadpanning his way through a ridiculous story while the rest of the cast desperately tries to not lose it.
Ha, we do this too! “Baby, I think that can of grease on the sink is turning into a suitcase.”
I actually wasn’t a huge Everybody Loves Raymond fan in general, but the turkey scene can still incapacitate me with laughter, every time I watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMuhSKP9Hco
In Seinfeld, the episode where Kramer turns his apartment into a smoker’s lounge has a hilarious scene where he goes next door to Jerry’s apartment. He’s wearing makeup so that he appears to have been aged several years over a few days due to smoke damage. You can tell Jerry is on the verge of laughter through the whole scene. The outtakes are even funnier.
Gold.
How I Met Your Mother had slap bet. That was pretty damn funny.
Thank you for this link. My SO and I have been laughing our fool heads off over this! This is awesome.
Not technically a sitcom (though Supernatural has enough humor that it could almost be a hybrid) the scene from this season’s episode “Changing Channels” where the Trickster traps the Winchesters in TV land. Actually the whole episode is hilarious but I nearly fell out of my chair over the back-to-back Nutcracker (Japanese game show) and Herpexia scenes. I’ll try to find the clips.
More Are You Being Served?
The demonstration model of the rubber gloves, and what she does with it.
And, “HO HO HO, little boy. Have I got a surprise for you!”
