And my favorite: CSI - Supernatural.
Pure awesome.
Great stuff, but my favorite is at the very end of an episode where Dan’s father visits and they have yet another fight. At the end, Dan and Roseanne are in bed talking about what’s happened, and Dan starts doing an impression of his father, telling these insane, rambling stories. The scene feels improvised to me. I can’t find a video but here’s a quote.
Dharma & Greg are competing for the coveted “Duck Award.” a statue given to the couple who has sex in the most outrageous public place. When Greg’s very stuffy parents end up having sex on the courthouse steps, Dharma gives the statue yo her MIL Kitty.
Kitty: This isn’t even a duck. It’s a goose. Why don’y you call it the Goose Award?
Dharma: Cause goose doesn’t rhyme.
Patrick Stewart explaining his screenplay to Ricky Gervais’ character on Extras.
It seems to be a byword for a badly-written gag, but the rake scene in the Simpsons still makes me giggle when I think of it. (whack … brrrrr … whack … brrrr … [pan out])
HAHA. wow. that was good.
Arrested Development, whenever Franklin is on camera and family members treat the puppet as if was a real person.
Friends. The Hanukkah Armadillo was classic, that’s for sure. But then there was the trivia contest that Ross refereed (“What is Joey’s favorite food?” “How many different ways does Monica sort hand towels?” “What is Chandler’s job?”). I just about died.
I love that one!
Some great ones mentioned so far - the Roseanne scenes of Jackie calling about her DEAD DAD, and her shrinking in the bathtub after smoking pot, are fantastic. I also loved the scene of them finding out they have won the lottery - even though the show is jumping the shark right before your very eyes, the scene itself is gut-bustingly funny. The actors just go for it.
Some other great Golden Girls moments.
Blanche walks around spouting nonsense in a sleep-deprived delirium.
Blanche finds out that Rose’s dinner date is a little… well, has a few shortcomings..
Blanche responds to one of Sophia’s insults.
I love Blanche. I mean, I love them all. But I love Blanche.
“I know!!!” - Monica
There was so much great stuff on the brilliant but prematurely-cancelled My Name is Earl:
Blanch: “Blah, blah, blah, Fiddle-dee-dee, blah, blah, blah . . .”
Dorothy (incredulous expression on her face): “Fiddle-dee-dee, Blanche.”
The shrinkage episode from Seinfeld has always been one of my all time favorites
Pretty much anything from “I’m Alan Partridge” but particularly
The one I still weep with laughter at - Frasier - A Lilith Thanksgiving. Lilith and Frasier leave their allergy prone, accident prone son with dad, who pooh-pooh’s their fussiness until he finds out they ain’t kidding…And Niles, dear Niles, swigging away at the brandy, basting the turkey in the oven every 15 minutes. Lilith and Frasier come home and take the turkey away, Niles comes back and opens the oven door only to find it…gone! The look on his face could make a statue laugh…
