When my FIL lived in Califonia he drove past a secret Naval base every day. We know this from the huge blue road sign proclaiming “Secret Naval Base” with an arrow pointing the the really obvious military base on the bluff to the side.
Hmmmm…maybe the sign in SF is stolen often?
Another example not too far from me:
For I-40, there is the sign in Barstow, CA and Wilmington, NC.
I think somebody already stole the human sign holders though…

Near Chesterfield, IN, close to I-69 is a little booze store called 69 Liquors. We’re inured to the 69 humor by now, but people still steal the I-69 signs.

Here in Anderson is Fox Radiator. The best place in town to take a leak.
In western NC, I used to see the sign for “Bat Cave.” In fact, there is a Bat Cave Baptist Church.
In Rutherfordton, There’s “The Barbecue Place” which has a sign below it reading,
"Lunch specials
Night Specials
Fresh Cool Salads
Ornamental Cement"
The ‘Pull Your Part’ sign outside the auto salvage yard always makes the inner child in me snicker.
I could have sworn that I posted about the sign for Big Bone Lick State Park in Kentucky the first time this thread was active. The first time I saw that sign, I about pissed myself laughing.
Heading up Highway 6 through the Bruce Peninsula, you come to a crossroads. One side is labeled ‘Cemetery Rd’, the other is labeled ‘Spry Rd’. Guess which one I’d prefer to take…
Over in the next county there is a place that sells truck accessories. Of course they
have a sign out front with the company’s name. What’s the name on the sign?

I visited a small town called ‘Fairlie’ in NZ, which was great for signs.
I think the ‘Fairlie Public Toilets’ were my favorite
