I saw LLLLLLL on a black DTS recently.
I don’t get it either.
I saw LLLLLLL on a black DTS recently.
I don’t get it either.
Love it!
Remembered another one:
When I was in high school there was a guy who drove an Iroc with the plate N ROLL (I rock and roll). The funny thing was his name was Nate Roll so it was double clever.
This one on a nice new Porsche:
BADGINA
I’m sure Gina was really badass, but not all that clever…
I see them all the time, but I don’t recall thwem later. It’s like dreams – if I don’t write them down, I forget them.
Just yesterday I saw one that read YEP.
Maybe it’s Ernie Els’ car?
Nice! I hadn’t heard of him. It’s a stretch, but better than anything I could come up with.
Saw an amusing one yesterday: AVOIDME
Yesterday I saw one that said MAUIIDO. Destination wedding, I guess.
Yesterday I saw a Pontiac GTO with the plate XTINCT.
Amused me no end.
On a related note, a few days ago I saw someone who had a bumper sticker, on their actual bumper, that said BUMPERSTICKER. Very meta.
Just the other day I saw a handicapped plate that said WICCAN. I wish I had taken a picture since it was sort of funny to see WICCAN followed by a picture of a wheelchair. (The only font I could find that had the wheelchair symbol was webdings and VB doesn’t support that.) I chuckled a bit as a pictured a person saying “hold on guys, my wheel is caught in the mud again.” Also, at the same time I saw one that said “ABCDEFG”
I saw this one in front of a vet school. A big, dirty truck with “MOO VET” plates was parked a couple of spaces over.
If our vanity plates didn’t cost something like $250, I’d try for “PLATE”. But the Ministry of Transportation would probably disallow it on the grounds that it might be confusing to ticket-writers.
A friend posted one on Facebook yesterday, a handicapped tag that said “TIMMAY”
Timmy is a wheelchair-bound character on South Park. His only word is his name which he pronounces like “Timmay” but he can express almost any thought or emotion by the way he says it.
I’ve seen in the last few weeks:
WE SK8
GUNSHP (along with a Vietnam Vets sticker)
MARIO KRT (on a Mini Cooper)
CAP KIRK
AVE PAX (hail to peace? road to peace?)
BUMBLEB (on a yellow Mini Cooper)
SXE NANA
TUF 2 GET
VRY HAPY
URPREY (that one worried me a little)
CHARTWL (a Winston Churchill fan? His country house was Chartwell)
1MY T GOD (“one mighty God”)
There’s an old story about an old VW Beetle (“Bug”) that had the plate:
FEATURE
Programmer joke.
"It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!
I saw an Audi with “HAUDI.”
And not funny, but awesome: a graduate student at my school had “ILVMATH.” Made me smile every time I saw it.
On a Mercedes SLK 350 driven by a young woman.
IOU DAD
Has the site Great Vanity Plates been mentioned? This (now revoked plate) is a classic from that site.
There is a car on my street with the plates IVRYTKLR.
I can only assume the person has some sort of bizarre elephant fetish.
