Futurama 7-14

Holy (bleep)ing sh(bleep)t!

Aside from all that, they’re clearly back to their roots from a storytelling POV.

That offer was for a limited time!

That literally had me on the floor.

Billy West? What a stupid, phony made-up name.

John F*CKING ZOIDBERG!!

I loved this episode. Nice to see the few times Zoidberg gets to “win”, as it were. And the shot at the end of him cutting the pizza, eyeballing everyone was hilarious.

Yea, Zoidburg swearing was really funny for some reason.

I wasn’t a huge fan (never liked the mob bots, myself), but it certainly felt like the team working at the top of their game. It seemed very much like a “classic” Futurama episode; one of my friends mentioned to me that he caught himself wondering halfway through if was actually a new episode or an old one he’d forgotten about.

I liked the way that Clamps crashed through the hardware store window and came out with clamps attached to him. Then Zoidberg fell in the water trough and emerged covered in lobsters.

it was wonderfully organic while keeping it relevant and nerdy. in contrast, last week’s schroedinger bit, though… funny-ish, didn’t feel futurama-y.

Whaaaat? That’s the kind of joke I would expect Futurama to make! Both this episode and the last IMO feel very organic and very classic Futurama to me.

My favorite parts of this one were that everybody except Zoidberg like Clamps - to the point that Fry even acknowledges that the psychotic Joe Pesci-esque robot mobster is a better friend to him than Bender is - and “John Fucking Zoidberg.” I didn’t think that would make me laugh or that I’d get such a kick out of it, but I did. And that was a good fight sequence, too. On the other hand I do think they need to take a break from stories about Bender’s scrapes with death. Depending on how you count, you could say they’ve done as many as four of them in a row.

Who’s going to make that joke if not Futurama? In “The Luck of the Fryrish” they gave us a quantum finish to a horse race.
