When and where did this request take place? I don’t open enough threads here to have seen it.
But I don’t think it is a reasonable request - people swear here, and everyone knows it. Why do you want there to be no swearing in thread titles?

Friggin’ HOT here. We’re in the middle of the hottest part of the year, but very heavy unseasonable rains the past week have cooled it down a bit. It’s almost like the rainy season has arrived a couple of months early. Still HOT, though.
Near perfect weather here in the Great Southwest…going to be high to mid-60’s with light winds and a bit of overcast. According to the forcast we are in for a bit of a heat wave over the weekend with temps getting up to mid-70’s. Oh…the HUMANITY!
Anyway, sorry about the weather in Alaska. Pretty there though…

80 degrees yesterday. I watched my daughter play soccer at 6 PM last night in shorts and a t-shirt. At 9PM the A/C came on because the house was 73 degrees.
12 hours later we have moderate snow, there’s a Winter Storm Warning to the west and its about 35 degrees. On May 1st.
There was a brief flurry yesterday morning and I thought everyone was going to quit on me. Attitudes took a definite turn for the worse as we braced ourselves for another storm. Happily, it didn’t materialize; by late afternoon the sun was back.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkkkkkk isn’t a swear word

Over the weekend it was a record high being in th emid 90’s. Yesterday the temp. maxed in the high 60’s. Today is supposed to be in the high 60’s as well. DAMN YOU AL GORE for messing up the weather.

Calling for 6-12" of snow today… May 1st
Yeah, we woke up to a lovely white layer on everything, too. We use May 20something as our date to start planting stuff here - I don’t know about this year.
I have not asked for it. But many post at work and they have asked for it. I consider it a reasonable request by my fellow Members and out of politeness, I have agreed. It’s not “never swear” it’s “please don’t put swear words in thread title”. Of course, there is no “rule”, thus if you must have a “rule” to be polite, then that’s up to you.
I surf the Dope at work, knowing full well that there may be swears on my screen from time to time. If I thought it would be a problem, I would stop surfing at work. I don’t think “politeness” has anything to do with it - this seems to be a judgement issue to me. (By judgement I mean on the part of the people surfing at work.)
