I feel for you Ad Noctum. I’ve had a similar situation happen about 2 months ago.
Although it didn’t involve alcohol it’s just a depressing. My dad (the lying piece of shit cheating asshole who is about 5’11" 185lbs) got the shit kicked out of him by my mom (honest hard working good natured who is 5’2" 130lbs). The thing is my dad ran off with some drug addict slut and he came home one final time to tell my mother that he was leaving and what had happened. Well my mom flipped punched my dad repeadetly in the face (gave him a black eye) before he was able to bolt out the door. I’m not so much pissed about him leaving me my sister and my mom, I am more pissed about him promising to give my mom support money and helping me with college and not giving her any money whilst he gives the drug addict lil’ whore drug money. I’ve not seen my dad since he’s done this needless to say since I am bigger than he is I’m going to go off on him and in a big way. The thing that made this so much worse that that very same night my girlfriend attempted to committ suicide. I was lucky enough to get her to the hospital and have her turn out ok.
So Ad Noctum I feel for you man. Life can really suck sometimes, and some damage can never be forgotten. Just forget your fathers existence for the time being it’ll help with the pain of it all. Well at least it is helping me.

well, I survived the night, and just wanted to post that nothing seemed out of the ordinary when I returned home this morning. HUGE thanks to anyone that posted here, and if you didn’t put a smiley in front of your post, Curse you

I think you did the best possible thing with that beer. Throwing it at trees is the best thing you can do with adult beverages when you’re angry. I wish you well with your situation.
Adam, please feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk. I’m painfully familiar with alcoholics and the hurt they cause. (I’m still dealing with it after 10 years). I’ll wait for you to e-mail me; but if you need help, I can offer transportation (I’m guessing we live in a nearby area since wierddave helped you out), a place to stay, or just a shoulder to cry on. I’m pulling for you all the way, and please take me up on my offer; nothing would make me happier than providing help I never had.
I can’t tell you that everything will work out, or that it will get better, because it doesn’t ever happen that way. But I will remind you that many people here care about you and are praying for you and your mom.

Glad to hear that you stood up for yourself. I often had to intervene in the fights between my parents and I know how sick it can be.
Your mother will never forget that you drew the line for your father. Many others here besides myself are proud of you. Of that you can be sure.
