Gah! I surrender!

I hope this is okay, last time I mentioned this guy my thread was disappeared.

Here’s the deal, I’ve encountered either a troll or the biggest anti-government crackpot/consipiracy nut on the Net. Name it and he’s probably posted about it, Reeder style. He continuously presents opinion as fact and when called upon to present concrete evidence, he hems and haws and claims that no evidence is available because the mainstream medium is participating in a coverup. He makes Dale Gribble sound resonable and Aldebaran sound Republican. Argue with him and he’ll twist everything to suit his position, like Archie Bunker. Turn a thread in a direction he isn’t comfortable with and hell change the topic or run off to a new thread, like december. Most recently, linked to this book and said that the author is a friend. If he thinks anything there is an accurate presentation of reality, this guy is clearly incapable of participating in a reasonable discussion. I’ve surrendered and will no longer be a participant in any of his rantings.

What’s really infuriating is that this is on a moderated board and the moderators condone his behavior!

Let me get this right. You are posting here about a poster that is not a member here complaining about what somebody somewhere else is doing over there? Is that about right?

Not comlaining as much as being glad that he’s not here. I had to say something about the fool before I exploded and we’re about fighting ignorance. I fought ignorance and lost.

Well, for God’s sake don’t use his online name or he may be led here by a search. It’s good to try and take the fight against ignorance to other venues, but some people can’t be reached. (Actually, even here on the SDMB, how often does anybody really change his mind about something based on logical arguments presented to him?)

This is a good point. In fact, we don’t want to have any guessing of the troll’s identity, since even if you’re wrong, you may just lead a different troll here.

Heck, I think I’m just going to close this. No reflection on Lute, but it’s hard to have a discussion about unnamed trolls without either giving away their identity or being overly vague.
