I know it’s been for freaking ever since I’ve popped in. I’ve got a big-girl job now. It’s pretty crazy.
Sr. Weasel and I are moving to Gainesville in early June. So we’re flying down to go apartment hunting / meet my new employers on the 24th/25th/26th of April.
So, if you’ve always wanted to meet a Spice Weasel, now’s your chance. We’re hoping someone might be up for dinner on Friday night. We can keep it low-key, I think it just might be nice to meet some people that live in the same vicinity. And of course we’re always up for geek things if anybody is interested.
Of course we’ll want to arrange a more substantial Dopefest in June. I think our official move-in date is June 12th. I’d commit to a housewarming party but… there’s a good possibility we’ll be living at a primate sanctuary. Life is somewhat unpredictable right now.
Well, I don’t actually have a lot of details yet. I got a fundraising job - as Development Director, yay! - and it involves monkeys. Hopefully I will learn all about it next week when I finally meet my coworkers (and monkeys.)
I’ve been doing my research on nonprofit development in preparation for the job, and a lot of sources say it’s important to have constituent representation on the board of directors. They don’t, however, explain what to do when your constituents are monkeys.
