Picking up where this thread left off…
Is anyone else up for a Dopefest in Brandon, or at least somewhere in eastern Metro Tampa, on the 21st?
Can we make it a lunch thing instead of dinner? I have to work that night.
Sorry I hadn’t posted about this in awhile - thanks, Sani, for starting this thread.
Things with my in-laws got complicated in the last couple of weeks - lots of health problems and stuff. I didn’t really want to say anything until the picture cleared a bit.
It looks like lunch on the 21st will work for Mrs. F. and me; if any problems come up, I’ll let you know. Looking forward to seeing you all!
I will never be able to meet another doper face to face. 
I would certainly make the drive from West Palm some weekend, especially for the privelege of meeting Mr & Mrs Fly, but there is no way I can make the 21[sup]st[/sup].
[sub]On a totally unrelated note, the 21[sup]st[/sup] is my birthday. I shall be ossified + 1. (Or maybe ancient[sup]2[/sup] * pi. I get them confused, sometimes.[/sub])
Someone had previously discussed a more central area because, believe it or not, there are other dopers out there that the Tampa area is not convenient to get to. A lot of us also work during the week.
screech-owl and I were discussing having dinner one Friday evening coming up on International Drive in Orlando and I had e-mailed RTFirefly about this over the weekend. Also, I was going to have lunch with TroubleAgain next week and she indicated previously that she would be interested in doing a doperfest on a weekend night.
Well, Firefly, you’ll be the main attraction at this next gathering, so you set the time and day.
…but what the hey, I should take advantage of it.
I think lunchtime Thursday 12/21 is about as good as it gets, in our schedule. And where are people coming from? We can do this centrally located, as best as we can. If anyone’s coming from Orlando, it’s asking a lot to have them drive into Tampa - and vice versa.
We were thinking Brandon, right? If we meet there, I will be comeing frm Tampa and it will take me about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and how fast I drive. Sani lives a few hours away.
Thursday’s out. How does Friday lunch work for people? (I think dinnertimes are just plain out; there are just barely enough evenings to go around as it is. Sorry, GolfWidow, TroubleAgain, screech-owl. :()

Friday still works for me, but I’m sorry to hear that this means we won’t have our Orlando dopers! I swear, one of these days I will meet you guys… Ah well, not as though I don’t try, eh?
Sorry, Friday is a no-go for me…it is the middle of my work week and I don’t have time to do anything inbetween my shifts but sleep.
I’m starting to think this one isn’t gonna happen.
But if it doesn’t, don’t worry - I’ll be back again soon.
