I think summer ended actually. Either way, shit’s going to get hard in the nearish future.
Yes, they declared the summer officially ended sometime in Season 2. So we’re in fall.
Osha is the wildling taking Bran to the Wall. When was she naked in a cave? Were you talking about the scene with Robb and his wife Talisa? I’m not remembering the Larry Flyntesque scene with Osha.
Igrytte was the one naked in a cave.
Not in the latest episode, that this thread is about. Talisa was nude, as were the torture whores. That’s all I remember (aside from Robb anyway).
This is not referring to the scene with Jon and Ygritte.
Ygritte. Sorry. I got my she-Wildlings mixed up. Shit, there’s a lot of characters. (Ygritte is the redhead, Osha is Tonks, and Gilly is Mrs. Craster-Craster.)
We do not speak of her during a week in which we were mercifully spared a scene involving her.
That’s a great question - I can’t even formulate a realistic guess… All I can come up with is that he will lead them into a trap or something and heroically get killed in the encounter.
Doesn’t that imply that if Jon Snow switches sides she’ll go with him?
I’ve been thinking about Theon… He’s now sans penis… I have the feeling that he will get back to his pops and be declared “the sister” or some other “non man” (mysoginistic Middle Ages type view) saying by his pops. How is that family line going to continue anyway? Theon can’t have an heir now, would his sister’s progeny count?
Y’all’re falling down on the job, boys. Facebook recap is up.
That’s last week’s episode
I think she was implying that they should ditch both sides.
Crap! This is what I get for not paying attention to episode #s (and posting before I actually looked at the thing).
Agreed. Although the end of the scene this week showed some pushback. Snow went on about “YOU won’t win” and she countered with “don’t you mean WE?”
I think she is fine them running off, but wouldn’t accept Snow betraying the Wildlings.
I can’t remember if this was answered last week but-
Ygritte just wanted over the wall but as pointed out last week–Wildlings get past the wall all the time.. why was scaling it so important?
Duh. Because it’s there.
– George Mallory
Because it’s harder to attack people on the other side of a 700 foot tall ice cliff than attacking people on the same side of it.
I think that is pretty much how they always do it, if the wall is 300 miles long. Either that or it’s a looooong way around it, which no doubt Mance can’t wait for. Remember they were drilling Snow pretty hard about which castles were unmanned - they want to get a more or less intact raiding party over at one spot so they can circle around and hit the Watch from the rear. No doubt doing that is harder than a couple of guys sneaking across at a time. You’ve got to have a section unpatrolled long enough for them to set up those ropes the way Tormund did at the end of the last episode to start pulling the rest of his war party up.
Since only a handful of fortresses out of a dozen are still manned, I expect some portions of the wall have straight up crumbled and/or have been tunnelled under. Just not enough that a 10.000+ force could sneak through unnoticed. Might as well crush the largest point(s) of resistance by surprise on the way through, rather than let them regroup and counter-attack, or harass the rear guard.
I’m not convinced they acknowledge the existence of an autumn. They speak only in terms of “winter” and “summer”
Great! Out to read it!
ETA : it doesn’t seem to be up yet. Your link goes to the previous episode.
So, Tywin, Tyrion, or anyone else hasn’t found out about Ros? Or don’t care? I know Tywin is ruthless, but I didn’t think he would stand for that. Besides, he promised to bring Joffrey to heel, didn’t he?
