I agree. This character is the most one-sided of the series so far.
ETA : Sansa is one-sided as well though for other reasons. She’s brutally slapped around at every turn but still seems unable to learn a thing.
Theon’s torturer is up there.
(BTW, avoid imdb as they have a big spoiler on who that character is. As in, they tell who that character is [use the character’s real name next to the actor’s picture].)
It’s not that big of a thing to spoil. They’ve been hinting at it pretty heavy-handedly.
Oh, given his interest in killing defenseless women, I’d say we can promote him to psychopath. Littlefinger’s the sociopath … he has no personal interest in doing you harm, but don’t get between him and the next rung on the ladder.
Just odd general trivia:
I saw Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays Joffrey, on an interview program and he said that Joffrey will probably be his last acting role. He wants to quit acting and use the money he earned since starting when he was little to complete his education and as a nest egg because- here’s the odd part- he wants to become an academic theologian. He’s currently studying Hebrew.
Game of Thrones Facebook ReCap, Season 3, Episode 7.
A day late, but not a laugh short…and a little NSFW pic (Wifey’s Hot Ass interfering with My Battle Plans!)
Wet Shit > Walder Frey
Oh god every line of that is fucking hilarious.
“When I reclaim my land, I shall spare that ass.”
Have you ever heard of the Boy Who Was A Huge Douche So No One Cared When He Cried Wolf?
I don’t think Tywin realizes the crazy in Joffrey. I also think Joffrey was thinking “I need to do something about my grandfather” as Tywin was leaving.
Do you think that Tywin knows that the incest rumors are true or do you think he’s in denial?
I agree. Would not be surprised if Tywin isn’t the Surprise Death for this season. Joffrey is a psychopath with supreme power, which is the Worst Thing Ever for those near the throne. Even if Joffrey’s power isn’t defacto power (Tywin’s army is the real power in Westeros) Joffrey still might be able to get his guards to summarily execute Tywin.
Maybe Hand of the King is like the Defense of the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter, and we’ll get a new one every season.
Which guards?
The Kingsguard has a sworn duty to defend the King–but are they also his private hit squad?
The Goldcloaks (Kings Landing “police force”) were under Littlefinger’s control last time I checked. Is he out of town now? Who’s in charge of them? Would *they *go against Tywin for the sake of Joffrey?
Ned was found guilty of Treason & sentenced to The Wall. Joff took everybody by surprise when he changed the punishment & had the executioner cut off his head. (Even his own family was appalled by the decision.)
To “execute” Tywin, he’d need to be brought up on some kind of charges. Which seems unlikely. Can Joffrey find somebody willing to assassinate or murder him? Somebody really good at his job–since a Tywin angered by an unsuccessful attempt on his life would probably be quite unpleasant…
I forget which group slaughtered the Baratheon bastard babies, but they seem a likely candidate.
Those were the gold cloaks i believe.
Bronn?
I just re-watched some of Season 2–it was the gold cloaks. Tyrion had the head of the goldcloaks banished to the wall for it. That’s how Bron ended up in charge of them for a time.
Didn’t Joffrey order a Kingsguard. Meryn Trant, to kill Tyrion, who was also hand of the king?
