Did anyone else notice that some off the Sons of the Harpy weren’t dressed like the masters? Some were dressed like the former slave caste. I think Dany pissed the whole city off and has created odd bed-fellows.
The King’s Guard who is traveling with Tyrell…isn’t he on Arya’s list? I think Arya will see him in Bravos and have to decide if she’s going to be faceless or Arya Stark.
A man who is no-one does not kill for personal revenge. I think they’ve made very clear that Ayra will have to soon make a choice between becoming a faceless man or continuing to hold onto her revenge list.
Oh, I think it cares. Jaqen originally killed people for Arya because he thought the god was owed three deaths. Definitely don’t think they’re into wanton murder.
Jaqen needs to teach Arya the loopholes. There was no indication that he had a connection to the two other guys she saved from the burning cart in season 2. He could have given her a single killing to pay for his own but he used the others as an excuse to up the count to three. Arya needs to get someone to ask her to murder Meryn Trant.
That would be a very Varys-y move, but it’s not all that likely, considering he had no way of knowing they would stop in Volantis, and no time to set it up.
It only occurred to me after I read your post. Tyrion has been very hard on himself and did not seem to mind being caught. I think it is highly unlikely that Varys did ask Jorah to imp nap him and I rather not seek out the answer.
I think Mace Tyrell would have shown a side of himself we have yet to see if he was in King’s Landing when his son was taken. Doddering old men in Westeros are never what they seem.
I did appreciate the ambush on the Unsullied taking place in a narrow space which made the spear wielder less effective. They need to train with short swords and have them handy in cities with narrow alleys.
The scene with Tommen reminded me of the TOS Star Trek episode where Kirk is split into a good and evil side and they make a point were you need some of those base emotions to be an effective leader. Especially in Westeros.
Even in a narrow space, all they have to do is form 2 rows, back to back, far enough apart not to hit each other with their windup, and keep the shield wall up. The harpies could never get past the spears with just daggers.
Why did the unsullied not do a great job of fighting? Maybe they were some of the not-fully-trained unsullied that Dany insisted on rescuing along with all the fully-trained ones.
Why did the sand snakes kill the ship captain? Maybe because he smuggled a hated enemy of Dorne into Dorne? And even admitting so afterwards (in a crass desire for profit) doesn’t forgive that sin?
Obara Sand killed the ship captain because of exposition. How do we show that the Sand Snakes are bloodthirsty killers? By showing one of them killing someone for no good reason. OK, character established.
