Game of Thrones 6.04 "Book of the Stranger" 5/15/16 [Show discussion]

6.01 The Red Woman
6.02 Home
6.03 Oathbreaker

The books do not exist in this thread.

This is the thread for open discussion about the books and show.

One thing I’d like to suggest - if something comes from the previews or future episode descriptions, it would be appreciated if you spoiler boxed it. Those things are put together by marketing people, and not the writers, and can give away things we’d rather know when the writer/editor wanted to, not the marketing team.

Well now, the entire discussion of Khaleesi’s boobs is moot.

Does Tonks always have to die?

Yay, the Starks finally stop missing each other! And there was Sir Prize’s conversation he was waiting for. Kinda anti-climatic. The Red Woman still hasn’t told Davos what happened to Shireen. As I said in the other thread-- Those who worship the God of Tits and Wine should now be satisfied.

Another young actor sprouting a foot during the off season. Robin is now a giant. And speaking of giants-- Sansa is taller than Jon. The only one taller than her is Breinne.

Seeing Daenerys’ breasts in that final scene was really distracting. Totally ruined it for me. Emilia Clarke should be ashamed.

Those male leaders all went from Khal (lastname) to “Khal 911!!!

Lucky for Daenerys that there was all that flammable oil so readily available. If they’d been charcoal braziers, she’d have been out of luck. As would we have been, as her clothes wouldn’t have gotten burned off then either.

My thought was that the members of the Dosh Khaleen soaked the place in oil.

I figured it was Jorah and Daario.

Her minions obviously soaked it in oil before. At least that’s what I assumed.

Sad for Osha :frowning: I hope Rickon stays alive.

So, does this confirm the fealty of the Umber’s, or was Osha a loan wolf(snerk).

I never thought it was a trick by the Umbers because it was too dumb to be a trick. Ramsay could have easily just stabbed Rickon the moment he saw him, which actually would have been the smart move.

It’s a tent; it’s already flammable.

Mentioned in the other thread (by me) watching Tormund give Breinne the come hither look made me think of what giant children they would have. Giant, ginger, scary fuckers. May has well be White Walkers.

I think the hypothetical oil was to explain why the fires spread so readily. I had been suspicious about that, but Jorah and Daario spreading oil beforehand explains that rather well.

You’re of course free to assume they spread oil in advance, but I don’t remember them being shown doing so and I doubt the show will revisit it.

I think this will carry forward when Davos finally finds out. Mel is determined to stay with John and Davos and Brienne are both going to have a problem with it.

When Jon and Sansa have their big reunion hug, Tormund is looking on in the background, obviously thinking, “Wow he really goes in for the redheads.”

Very happy with the reunion. But the height difference was jarring. Same with Robyn…did they establish why Little Finger holds such sway over Robyn? And is his plan to have the Vale go to war with the North…and actually win or just to further destabilize things.

Really like Tormund being so into Brienne.

Ten bucks says Arya’s sent back to Westeros to kill Jon.

Has Jon always referred to Ned Stark, when speaking to his half siblings, as your father? He did to Sansa.

I heard “the ghost of our father”
