Actually, I got the sense that Arya was starting to feel the same way.
At this point in the story there are three people in the world that know she wasn’t a prostitute, Tywin, Jaime, and Tysha. Tyrion, and the audience, don’t know she wasn’t until the end of Storm of Swords.
I feel the same way about this season.
But are you sure the dragons were stolen?
Is it possible they were rescued by someone in Dany’s camp?
If they were stolen, consider what that means.
A group of warriors or fighters would have entered the place where Dany was staying and would have killed everyone there. Then they let one person carry the dragons off.
Well, if they had killed everyone there to capture the dragons, wouldn’t there have been some of them left alive at the end?
And if they were, why wouldn’t they have sent some fighters with the person who carried the dragons to guard them?
I’m not sure what happened. But this scenario just doesn’t make sense to me.
I thought the opposite, Arya is still trying to spy for the northerners in her own way while Tywin is somewhat fond of her. Actually even something as mild as fond is too much for Tywin, he doesn’t see her as completely incompetent like everyone else around him.
The only explanation I can see is a battle joined. Or maybe just exploited. I don’t think the person who got the dragons was the one the fight was meant to get them for. The giggle sounded a bit like the warlock to me.
If so, I suppose he could have cast an illusion to make them mistake each other for intruders and kill their own people. . .
I thought the sound of the dragons was beautifully crafted.
The part they left out was that Tywin made Tyrion go last, and pay her in gold instead of silver because a Lannister is worth more. ick.
- pout * I guess the Qartheen dresses with one bare breast are just not gonna show up? Tsk, tsk, HBO.
While I’m all for a nekkid Tonks, was the Osha/Theon sex scene just completely gratuitous? I’m pretty sure it wasn’t in the book, but correct me if I’m wrong.
How did it relate to the escape plan? If anyone needed to be distracted/lulled into a false sense of security, it would be whatever guards were watching the boys. If they weren’t being guarded then what was the point of seducing Theon? The only reason to do it would be to kill him, but she doesn’t because that’s not what happens in the book.
I’m fine with them changing things for the show. Different mediums require different approaches to storytelling, and a lot of the changes have been good, e.g., the Tywin/Arya scenes. But this was just Ros-level gratuitousness.
Osha did bang some other random guy who wasn’t Theon as part of their escape plan if i remember right.
She had leg irons on in season 1. I don’t know if she had them on in earlier episodes this season.
She didn’t bang anyone else, at least not on the show. She just started to seduce a guard long enough for him to let his guard down and then she slit his throat. Then, a quiet double-whistle to call out Hodor, Bran, and Rickon, plus their two direwolves.
I thought she hadn’t been wearing them all season, but I’d have to go back and check. Still, banging Theon just to get them removed doesn’t make sense. She could have found some blacksmith willing to do it since everyone hates Theon.
I thought DigitalC was referring to the book. If that is what happened, it must have been subtly suggested by something she said as it would have been in one of Bran’s POV chapters.
ETA: And killing the guard just makes her failure to kill Theon more apparent. Killing no one and sneaking off would have been best, but that guard’s body would be discovered more quickly than Theon’s.
I think Osha was probably under guard, along with the boys & the rest of the retainers. A plan was made; then she begged an audience with Theon, knowing his weakness–well, one of his weaknesses. Left in his room by his sniggering minions, she wore him out; he fell asleep & she left. The guard knew she’d been warming Theon’s bed & bought her story long enough for her to grab his knife & kill him. Then she whistled for the others & they left, wolfies following…
If she’d killed Theon, those left at Winterfell would have been made to pay by his men. For now, Theon just looks even more of a fool. Alas, the folks at Winterfell won’t be safe for long…
Ok, I’ll buy that. Yay nekkid Tonks! Also future yays for nekkid Gwen from Downton Abbey.
Alright, checked the book. They snuck out while he was banging Kyra the tavern wench.
So it looks like the Tullys and Riverrun have been excised completely. I don’t remember if Edward Tully or the uncle play any important part going forward, do they?
Well, *someone *has to get married in the Red Wedding.
True, but that’s just to arrange the all the key characters in that one place and time. Do the Tullys play any role which would be nearly impossible or bizarre in the big picture if enacted by someone else on the show? AFAICT, no.
There has been some speculation that Cat would offer herself in marriage to replace Edmure. I don’t like that idea, but I guess I can see it. Dave and Dan have said that the Red Wedding is the thing they really want to do with this series. I think they’ll do it justice.
I wouldn’t have a big problem if Edmure shows up just for the Red Wedding. It doesn’t have to be a recurring role. Just, “here’s Cat’s brother, he’s getting married! Oh no, everything is horrible!” ta-da! And we never need to see him again.
